1 PETER 3:7
"Husbands, you must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may weaker than you are, but she is your EQUAL PARTNER in God's gift of new life. Treat her as you should so that your prayers will not be hindered."
Do you believe that men and women are equal? It may be true that when it comes to physical strength, men are stronger than women, but strength is not the total issue. The scriptures refer to women as the weaker vessel, but an equal partner in God's gift of new life. Even though men are considered to be the head of the household and their authority is to be respected, husbands are to treat their wives with understanding and honor. In fact if you disrespect your wife the Lord indicates that your prayers may be hindered. In this age of feminism, the question is are we not both equal. Are human thoughts and plans better than God's plan?
Jesus Christ is no respecter of persons. This means that when it comes to the gift of new life, we are all equal partners. Men and women are equal in the kingdom of Heaven as their is no distinction in their sexuality. Men need to understand God's heart and how He sees us as all equal and the same in the eternal kingdom. This is why here on earth married men should live considerately with their wives. There should be an intelligent recognition in your marriage relationship. You are joint heirs of God.
If you abuse your authority as the head of the house, your prayers and life will be hindered. You can cause your prayers to be cut off from God if you do not honor your wife. As marriage partners you should strive to be of one mind, honoring one another. Align yourself with God and His Word and you will respect one another and the plan of God here on earth. Men must assume the authority given to them in marriage and with the family but they may not dishonor their wife or children. Look up, our redemption draws nigh, and we will be equal partners in Heaven.
