THE PLAIN TRUTH!

2 TIMOTHY 1: 10

"And now God has made everything PLAIN to us by the appearing of Jesus Christ our Saviour.  Jesus abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel!"

Those who only had the old testament and lived before Jesus Christ had a distinct disadvantage. Solomon, the wisest man ever for his age,  thought everything was vanity.  Solomon never knew about the "Good News" of Jesus Christ.  Job knew that he would see his "Redeemer", but he was unclear about who that was because Jesus Christ had not appeared.  What would your world be like if God had not given us THE PLAIN TRUTH  by the appearing of Jesus Christ our Saviour?  What if there had never been the birth, death and resurrection of our Lord?   The prophets messages would never have come true.   God appearing in the flesh would be just mere words.  The concealed plan of the old testament would never have been revealed and made PLAIN to us.  What if there was no new testament, no Jesus Christ?

When Jesus Christ appeared and lived among us we had tangible proof of God's New Testament! By His birth, death and resurrection He abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel.  The old testament was replaced by the plain truth of the appearing of Jesus Christ and His Good News.  It is natural for men to want physical proof in order to believe something.  The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.  That is physical proof of the plan of salvation of the Lord.  We could see Him, hear Him and touch Him.  His disciples then spread the Good News to the world and even to us today.  They tell of the miracles and bring us the PLAIN truth of our Lord!

It was the plan of God from the beginning of time and it was His purpose and grace that this be revealed to us by the appearing of Jesus Christ our Saviour!   Now we have full disclosure of the plan of God.  Jesus Christ annulled death and has made it of no effect to those whom He has Saved.  Jesus Christ brought us life, immortality and immunity from death.  His Gospel and the wonderful plan of God is now available to all who believe in Him.  Now we can know and understand THE PLAIN TRUTH!  Now we can share the GOOD NEWS.  Now we can have LIFE 

instead of death.  Old testament believer's have the benefit of the truth of the new testament!

THE CONTENTMENT OF GOD!

1 TIMOTHY 6: 6-7

"True GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT is itself great wealth.  After all we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can not take anything with us when we leave it."

Are you content with your life?  Are you content with the amount of money or wealth you have accumulated, or do you always want more?  Is winning the lottery your retirement plan?  Have you been able to meet your dreams and aspirations and are you content with what you have done?  Does money and obtaining wealth take up a large part of your day, time and energy?  Are you still trying to make that "big killing" that will have you set for the rest of your life?  Maybe it is time to listen to the One Truth Today.  Whose economy should you pursue, yours or God's?  True Godliness which, leads to contentment, is in and of itself great wealth.  If you want to be rich in God's kingdom then your goals will be entirely different in this life!

Godliness will be accompanied by the contentment of the Lord.  That is the only gain you should be pursuing in abundance.  Godly contentment gives us a sense of inward sufficiency and peace.  That is where you will find your only true profit and your only real sustainable gain. Coming to God and knowing and loving Him will lead to your worship and respect, and the only true contentment you will ever know.  Our economy is temporary and fleeting, God's economy is eternal and will never be lost.  We are told to "lay  up our treasures in heaven", for they will not be lost like those on earth. Seek True Godliness It leads to the CONTENTMENT OF GOD!

When you were born what did you bring into the world with you?  You arrived with nothing but your eternal soul.  What will you take with you when you die.  Your eternal soul is the only thing that will ascend to heaven.  What difference will it make what you accumulate here on this earth?  Everything you have will be left to others and will not accrue to yourself.  Only our eternal soul will survive this earth and nothing physical will transfer with us.  Your relationship with God will determine the final destination of your soul.  Your relationship with God will determine whether you are content here on earth.  How are you doing.  Who do you serve, God or money and possessions?  Great wealth is THE CONTENTMENT OF GOD!

SOME SINS AND GOOD DEEDS ARE NOT OBVIOUS!

1 TIMOTHY 5: 24-25

"Remember, the sins of some people are obvious,  leading them to certain judgement.  There are others whose sins will not be revealed until later.  In the same way, the good deeds of some people are obvious.  The good deeds done in secret will someday come to light".

The sins of some people are so obvious that everyone can see and know about them.   Adolph Hitler comes to mind.  We can all conclude that these sins will lead to a certain judgement by God.  All sins unless they are confessed to Jesus Christ and forgiven will lead to judgement.  The One Truth Today tells us that some sins are secret and known only to God.  These hidden sins will be revealed at the judgement and are known to God.  Nothing is hidden from the Lord.  That is why it is good advice to confess all of your sins to the Lord and ask for His forgiveness!

The Lord will show us mercy and forgive all of our sins if we are faithful to confess them.  Everything done in the dark will be seen in the Light of the Lord.  What we have thought or whispered will be shouted from the housetops!  Are you prepared to meet the Lord right now?

In a like manner, some good deeds are not conspicuous and are unknown to others.  Most of our good deeds are known and evident to others.  There are those that the right hand does that the left hand is unaware of and are done in secret.  Even these good deeds can not be hidden from an Omnipotent God.  These good deeds will be revealed at the time of judgement and they will not go unrewarded.  All of our deeds will become manifest and evident and will be revealed at the judgement seat.  Are you building up treasures in heaven, or are you hiding your sins in the hope they will never be revealed?  

Nothing you have done in your entire life will be done in a void.  Even if no living person has knowledge of your actions, the Lord knows.  Your actions will return to you and the hope is that they will be good and not evil.  So if your good deeds or sins are done in secret they will all be revealed and judged.  Depending on whether you have been forgiven of your sins, and acknowledged for your good deeds, your reward will be in equal proportion to your actions. Do your good deeds NOW.  Confess your sins NOW.  Prepare yourself for the certain time of judgement!

TRAINING FOR GODLINESS!

1 TIMOTHY 4: 8

"Physical training is good, but TRAINING FOR GODLINESS is much better, promising benefits in this life and the life to come."

Training for Godliness is important to everyone.  Spiritual training is much better for us then physical training because we will lose this body and be given a new spiritual body that will last eternally.  We benefit from TRAINING FOR GODLINESS,  in this life and in the life to come!

Do you work out physically every day?  Are you involved in a physical training program that requires your time and effort on a regular basis?  Are you attempting to keep your body young and beautiful?  How much time do you spend training for Godliness?  Do you put forth the same effort and time for spiritual training?  

Physical training has some value.  It is useful for the short time you are here on earth to maintain you body health.  Spiritual training for Godliness is even more important and of greater value in that your earthly body will decay and die but your spirit will live on with the Lord eternally.  Spiritual training holds a promise in this life and the life to come.  Knowing this One Truth Today, what should our position be on the effort spent in training?  Where should we place our emphasis?  Physical training is good, but training for Godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and the life to come.

Think of reading and digesting the scriptures as a workout to improve your Godliness.  Think of attending church and understanding the sermons as mind building and praising God.  Learn God's laws and His Word and listen to His prophets as a way to grow and build your spiritual muscles.  Internalize the daily bread of His Word as the sustenance needed to build a strong spiritual body.  In this case, the more you eat the healthier you will become.  So even though while we are present here on the earth we should strive to be healthy in body, we must never neglect the spiritual training for Godliness. Spiritual training will last forever!  Keep the eternal perspective at all times and remember your home is not here but in Heaven with the Lord!

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!

PROVERBS 25: 21-22

"If  your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat.  If they are thirsty, give them water to drink.  You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you."

Do you have any enemies?  Is anyone threatening you or your family, religion or country?  The One Truth Today tells you what to do to those considered your enemies!  The man of flesh has a different answer than the Word of God.  With the world it is "tit for tat", and many throw in the fact that they will do even greater retaliation to their enemy.  Men have been retaliating and have increased or escalated the problems since time began.  How is that working for you? Where has it gotten families, countries, religions or individuals that have enemies?  Is there an answer to this never ending story of death, destruction and mayhem?  The definition of insanity is to continue doing the same thing over and over, but, expect a different result.  Maybe it is time to stop acting in the flesh and start acting in the Spirit of the Lord God!

In Matthew, Jesus Christ told us to "Love Your Enemies".  We are to bless them that curse you and do good to them that hate you.  We are to pray for those that despite fully use us and persecute us.  In Romans the Lord tells us " Do not be overcome with evil, but, overcome evil with Good"!  Now in this Proverb we are given specific instructions on how to handle your enemies.  If your enemy is hungry, give him food.  If your enemy is thirsty, give him drink.  You are to LOVE YOUR ENEMIES.  The result is that your enemy will have burning coals of shame on their heads.  It is difficult to answer Love with hatred.  It interrupts the cycle of hate and violence.  It is difficult to harm a neighbor who has shown you love and concern.  

The best part of taking the high and spiritual road is that the Lord will reward us for this behavior.  By breaking the vicious cycle of hatred and substituting love you will get a different result and stop the insanity.  If your "enemy" gave you comfort and support and showed you goodness and kindness, how would that effect the way you think about them?  Let us put this to the test, and see if the Lord will reward us.  Take someone that you think is your enemy right now,  someone you have a strained relationship with, and apply this Proverb.  Give them something you know that they need or desire.  Give them your attention and love.  If you are having a problem with your father, mother, sister or brother, that is a good place to start.  Love them and demonstrate that by returning good instead of evil, love overcomes hatred. Overcome the evil of the past with the Love and Good of your future relationship.  If you believe Jesus Christ you only have one option.   LOVE YOUR ENEMIES.     

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD!

1 TIMOTHY 2: 5-6

"THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD and one mediator who can reconcile God and humanity- the man Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone."

There are many today who think that there is no God.  There are others who believe in other gods, but they are not the Lord Jesus Christ.  There are still others who believe that there are many paths to God and they all lead to the same God.  Perhaps the largest group believe that they are the equivalent of God, these are the humanists, agnostics and atheists.  There is one thing that all the above people have in common.  They are all incorrect, wrong and totally mistaken and they will find out the truth upon their death!  Of course when you die, without Jesus Christ as  your Lord and Saviour, you will be lost eternally, because He never knew you!

THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD and one mediator who can reconcile you to God, Jesus Christ.  

We worship a God  who desires that all men would be saved.  Our Lord gave His life to purchase freedom for everyone.  Jesus Christ is available to all men, not just a select group.  The One Truth Today contains all you need to know and understand about the redemption of the Lord.  You can perceive, recognize and discern His message, given to everyone at the right time.  The Lord gave Himself as a ransom for many and that can includes you.  The Lord is not for one race, country, or group of men, He is for the family of men.  You can call upon the real God right now and He will Save you!

Men throughout history have worshiped the sun, moon and stars.  They have worshiped the earth and the heavens and many objects in them.  They have made idols of animals and inanimate objects.  They have espoused many philosophies and ideas about their gods.  They have worshiped the dead, blood and sex.  There is no limit to the gods men are willing to worship.  They have purposely turned their back on the one true God and His Word and they have substituted profanity instead.  There is only one God who was willing to die for you.  There is only one God who came to earth in the form of a man to save us.  There is only one God who overcame death and is Alive!  All the other gods are dead.  If you worship anyone but the Lord Jesus Christ, you are making a mistake that will cost you eternal life.  THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD, THE MAN JESUS CHRIST!

CALLING ALL SINNERS!

1 TIIMOTHY 1: 15

"This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it:  Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners and I am the worst of them all."

You know that you are a sinner, correct?  In fact it could be argued that each of us is the worst one of them all.  The Word tells us that "ALL" have come short of the glory of God, and that would include you!  It is of no importance to list all of your sins and then compare them to others because the important fact is that we are all sinners!  We are all contaminated and in surgical terms, unsterile.  It is true that some have committed more sins against God then others, but in the end we are all the same, in need of a Saviour!  The One Truth Today and a most trustworthy saying that everyone should accept, is that Jesus Christ, the Lord God came into this world to save "ALL" sinners from death and that includes you. 

Paul confesses his breaking of God's laws and his rebelliousness along with his persecution of the Lord and His followers.  Paul had defiled that which was Holy.  He was ignorant and filled with unbelief in Jesus Christ.  Does that sound like anyone you know?  Whatever sin you have committed, no matter how heinous, you can be forgiven by your Saviour and receive His Mercy

if you believe in the redemption of Jesus Christ!  You like everyone have broken God's Law.  

CALLING ALL SINNERS!  Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, to save you!

Paul is being used to show the mercy and forgiveness of the Lord.  If he was the foremost of sinners, the Lord still Saved him.  This displays the Lord's long suffering and patience and love for His children.  The greatest sinner can be an example of the mercy and love of God.  That is encouraging to others.  This demonstrates that even if you think you are the greatest sinner of all time, you still can be Saved by the Lord.  That is the "Good News".  That is the reason and the plan for the Lord coming to this earth.  God wants to save you.  CALLING ALL SINNERS!
