DELIBERATE SIN

1 JOHN 3: 9

" Those who have been born into God's family do not make a practice of sinning,  because God's life is in them.  They can not keep on sinning, because they are the children of God."

We are all sinners.  We are born into sin with a nature of sin.  We are all dead in our sin and need a Saviour to forgive of us of our sin and wash us clean of our old nature.  When we are baptized we go into the watery grave were the Lord washes away our sin and allows us to rise up a new creature, filled with the Holy Spirit.  We are a new creation and God's nature will abide in us as we are now a part of the Holy Family.  We have been born into God's family.  

You were a sinner before you accepted Jesus Christ into your heart and life.  Now you are a new person and part of God's family.  As a result of this change you will not make it a practice to continue on sinning, because God's life is in you.  You may still sin, but you will not make it a practice to keep on committing the same sin, over an over.  In fact that is how you and others can tell if you have truly given your life to the Lord Jesus Christ.  You can not serve the devil at the same time you worship Jesus Christ.  The difference in our lives will be that although we may still sin, we will no longer commit DELIBERATE SIN!

No one born of God will deliberately and habitually or knowingly practice the same sin over and over in a deliberate manner.  A child of God cannot commit the same sin over an over because of God's gift of Life which abides in him.  The believer has the principals of God imprinted on their heart.  That is why you can tell whose child a person is, do they obey God or do they obey the devil?  A child of God does not go on committing the same sins over and over and in a deliberate manner.  If you continue on in adultery, or drunkenness or stealing, then you have not been save.  The same principal applies to all of God's laws and commandments.  If you knowingly and habitually commit the same sin over and over,  you disrespect God and you have never known Him.  You know in your heart that this is true.  You need to be truly saved and come to the Lord.  Ask Jesus Christ for forgiveness of all your sins and turn your life over to Him.  Be baptized in the Holy Spirit and stop committing DELIBERATE SIN!

WHO IS YOUR DADDY?

1 JOHN 3: 1

"See how very much our Father loves us,  for He call us His children, and that is what we are!   The people who belong to this world do not recognize that we are God's children, because they do not know Him."

Do you know who your real father is?  In this world and at this time it may be confusing to many to know who their real father is.  Now DNA evidence is available to prove or disprove the truth of the parentage.  In the past there had been many questions of the true fatherhood of many offspring and there was no way to be certain.  There is still an overriding question about who our real Father is.  The One Truth Today makes DNA evidence irrelevant.  If you want to know for certain who your real father is and how much He loves you then read this scripture.  You are not an orphan and you will never be one when you accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour.  God the Father will call you one of His children and show you how much He Loves You. 

Our Father knows us, and loves us and knows our name.  We are His individual children and He is our Father.  He proved how much He loved us when He gave us His only Son to be sacrificed to save us from sin.  The non believer's of the world do not recognize nor know this important information, nor do they understand who their real Father is.  If you belong to the world you do not belong to the Father in Heaven.  Behold the manner of love that the Father has bestowed upon us, He has given us eternal life in perfection.  What an incredible love was given to us when we were permitted to be named and counted as a child of God.  You are a son or daughter of God and He is your Heavenly Father.  

So if there is ever a question about your parentage, you can always give the right answer to any question raised.  If anyone asks you, "who's your daddy", you can give the correct and truthful response.  God is my Father and I am His child.  My Father loves me so very much that He saved me and gave me eternal life in perfection.  He calls us His children and knows us by name.  Now we can ask them, who is your daddy?  Those who are of the world do not really know or understand the correct answer.  They have never recognized or accepted the Lord as their Master or Saviour.  How about you, WHO IS YOUR DADDY? 

THE LORD IS BEING PATIENT FOR YOUR SAKE!

2 PETER 3: 9

"The Lord is not really being slow about His promise of returning, as some people think.  No, THE LORD IS BEING PATIENT FOR YOUR SAKE.  He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent."

The Lord promised that He would come back to the earth for His redeemed.  I for one would like that to be today.  I would rather be in Heaven with Jesus Christ the Lord God then remain here on earth.  I would rather be in perfection for eternity than in corruption on this earth.  As any true believer, I do not fear death, for it has no sting and the grave has no victory over us.  To be absent from our body is to be present with the Lord.  That should be the desire of all Christians. We also desire that those we love and know will repent and come to a saving knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.  We do not want those we love to be destroyed and separated from God.  That is the Lord's heart in that He loves all people and for their sake He is delaying His return.  When you compare heaven with the Lord against eternal separation and damnation the only rational position is to understand why the Lord has delayed His return.  

We should also remember that a day is like a thousand years to the Lord and a thousand years is like a day to the Lord.  His time is not our time.  Our lives are relatively short, here today and gone tomorrow.  So we need to understand that the Lord is not really being slow about His promise to return.  His delay may be beyond our understanding but it is the Lord's timing and not ours.  The day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night and unexpectedly.  It will be swift and powerful.  The Lord will not be tardy, He will be right on time.  The Lord is long suffering and patient toward those He loves and who need to be saved.  He does not want a single person to perish or suffer the second death.  It is for your sake that He delays His return.  

Lord, forgive those of us who would prefer that the day of your return be today.  It is a selfish motive to leave this body and to obtain our heavenly body forever.  We would leave this world in an instant and claim our heavenly mansion if we could.  We know that the Lord has promised us these things and yet we need to understand the heart of God.  We need to appreciate His Love and mercy and justice.  So if an unbeliever asks you why the Lord has not returned or questions His Word, then you can give the correct answer; THE LORD IS BEING PATIENT FOR YOUR SAKE!

THEY SPOKE FROM GOD!

2 PETER 1: 20-21

"Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding, or from human initiative.  No, these prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and THEY SPOKE FROM GOD!"

As human beings, we are subject to failure, mistakes and errors.  The prophets were also human beings and subject to failure, mistakes and errors.  That is why this One Truth Today is so important to us as believers.  The prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit and THEY SPOKE FROM GOD!  That is to say that the writing and scripture did not come from the mind of the prophets or from their understanding or initiative, but, it was inspired by God, who was the real author.  That is why we can rely on and trust their words, because they were spoken from God and for God.  They are really God's Words, spoken through divine inspiration, by and of the Holy Spirit.  

No prophecy ever originated from some man.  Man can not will anything to happen without God's will being done.  No prophecy came from a human impulse.  As the prophets spoke they were moved and propelled by God and the Holy Spirit.  What a comforting feeling it is to know that the infallible God used men as His spokesperson.  The Words of their messages belonged to God.  That is why there are no mistakes, because God does not err.  We can make mistakes in interpreting or translating the Words of God but the prophecies of God are never wrong. The bible is SPOKEN FROM GOD!

Where do you stand on the Word of God, the Holy Bible?  Do you think they are the thoughts or ideas of a group of men, that are subject to human error?  Do you think that only certain parts of the Bible are trustworthy and to be believed?  Like Woody Allen, do you just believe in 7 out of the 10 commandments?  Do you just rely on the red letter Words of Jesus?  Then it is time that you realized the truth and assimilated it into your being.  The scriptures, including the words of the prophets are reliable and trustworthy because they are not from men. ,  These human beings were not the true authors, they were moved and inspired by the Holy Spirit.  The truth is THEY SPOKE FROM GOD!

EQUAL PARTNERS!

1 PETER 3: 7

"Husbands, you must give honor to your wives.  Treat your wife with understanding as you live together.  She may be weaker than you are, but she is your EQUAL PARTNER in God's gift of new life.  Treat her as you should so that your prayers will not be hindered."

Do  you believe that men and women are equal?  It is true that when it comes to physical strength, men are stronger than women.  That is not the real issue here.  The scripture refers to women as the weaker vessel, but our One Truth Today confirms that believer's wives are EQUAL PARTNERS in God's gift of New Life.  Even though the man may be considered the head of the household, and their authority must be respected, husbands must treat their wives with equal honor and understanding because she is your EQUAL PARTNER in God's sight.  In fact if you disrespect your wife rather than honor her, your prayers will be hindered!  You need to understand God is no respecter of persons and men and women are equal in His Kingdom.  

Jesus Christ the Lord God has the same respect and holds both men and women as equals in His Kingdom.  When it come to the free gift of eternal life, we are all equal partners and partakers.  There is no distinction between the sexes in heaven, because there is no sexuality in the heavenly bodies that we obtain.  Men need to understand God's heart and how he sees every one of us as individuals that are equal in value and the same in spirit.  Here on earth married men should live considerately and honorably with their wives.  Their should be a joint recognition and an intelligent attitude about your marriage relationship.  You are joint heirs of God and equal in His Kingdom. 

As a man, if you abuse your authority as the head of the house, your prayers and your life will be hindered and you will suffer.  You can cause your prayers to never reach the Lord and you can be cut off from peace on earth.  As a married man you should honor your wife and strive to be of one mind that is aligned with God and His Word.  Respect one another and live the plan that God has in place for His children here on earth.  Men must assume the authority given to them in marriage and as the head of the family, but they can never dishonor or disrespect their wives or children.  How are you doing?  Do you see your wife as an EQUAL PARTNER? 

BORN AGAIN, LAST FOREVER!

1 PETER 1:23

"For you have been BORN AGAIN, but not to a life that will quickly end.  Your new life will LAST FOREVER, because it comes from the eternal, living word of God."

The Word tells us that our earthly bodies are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field, the grass withers and the flower fades and dies.  The Word of the Lord however remains forever and forever.  When you are born into this world your time is limited and the end is inevitable. Like a flower or a wisp of smoke, you are here one moment and then gone forever.  For every birth there is also one death in this world.  It is the result of our sinful nature and that would be the end of it, were it not for the grace and mercy of God.  So to those who think that this life is all there is, the answer is a resounding no!  Your challenge or test while you are here on earth is to come to know, love, fear and worship the Lord God.   If you open the door to your heart and invite the Lord in to dwell with you, at that moment you will be BORN AGAIN, and your new spiritual life will LAST FOREVER!  You have God's eternal living Word on that!

This second birth or being "born again", is not one of the flesh, it is one of the spirit.  You will have a new spiritual body which is everlasting or eternal.  When Nicodemus asked Jesus if being born again meant to go back into his mother's womb a second time, the answer was No! The second and spiritual birth is by the water and by the spirit.   You are no longer flesh that is subject to death and disease, you are a new spiritual being that will not quickly end but last forever and forever.  Just think we will be present with the Lord in heaven for eternity.  You will have been regenerated from and not from a mortal seed but one that is everlasting and immortal.  That is the "Good News", that we as believer's have come to know and that which we must share with others.  God has proclaimed it in His Word.  The One Truth Today tells of His message.  For if you have been BORN AGAIN, not to a life that will quickly end, your new life will LAST FOREVER, because it comes from the eternal, living Word of God!

  

 

BEAUTY THAT COMES FROM WITHIN!

1 PETER 3: 3-4

"Do not be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes.  You should cloth yourself instead with the BEAUTY THAT COMES FROM WITHIN, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God."

This is a subject that can cause women to be anxious or hostile.  Even so, stop for a moment and listen to this One Truth Today.  We all know that beauty if fleeting, here today and gone tomorrow.  Aging is inevitable.  So many dig their heels in and are willing to do anything to prevent the process.  In order to preserve the outer appearance many undergo risky surgery or injections or take dangerous prescriptions.  They will buy and use anything to cover up.  Have you seen a grey haired women lately?  How much time and money do you spend to and how much attention do you devote to outward beauty?  What is the expense to you of the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, that is precious to God?

There is a beauty that never fades and in fact grows, flowers and flourishes.  It is the inward beauty of an adoring women's heart.  This kind of beauty is incorruptible.  It is the unfading charm of a gentle and peaceful spirit that is precious to God and man.  This type of beauty is not caught up in this world.  This beauty is looking for another life in a Kingdom to come.  In that life there will be no imperfections, disease or death.  This kind of beauty comforts the husband and the children as it grows and matures.  It will never fade.  It is the BEAUTY THAT COMES FROM WITHIN!

If you love the Lord and do His will, you will understand this kind of beauty that is so precious and unselfish.  Attending to God and your family is the shining light that will show your true and inner beauty.  Set an example to your children and husband that clearly shows what your priorities are.  Where do you apply energy, time and money?  In particular, your daughters look to you and mimic what they see.  How do you dress and what do you look like?  Have they seen your BEAUTY THAT COMES FROM WITHIN?
