INSPIRED BY GOD!

2 TIMOTHY 3: 16

"All scripture is INSPIRED BY GOD and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives.  It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right."

True believer's and followers of Jesus Christ believe every Word of scripture is given by God.  All scripture is INSPIRED BY GOD!  God breathed on the authors and they became the instruments of God in their writing.  They held the pen, but God was the true author.  All of scripture is profitable for instruction, reproof and conviction of sin.  God's Words are useful to teach us what is true and point out what is wrong.  It is the perfect guide or owners manual for our lives.  Scripture corrects errors in our lives and teaches us discipline and obedience.  This is how we are trained for righteousness and Holy living in conformity with God's will.  This is true of All Scripture.

Without the scriptures how could any believer be complete, proficient or adequate to do God's work here on earth?  Anyone can find inspiration and life changing correction from reading the Word.  Some only read the red letter portions of the Word, or just the New Testament, or their favorite scriptures, but that conflicts with the One Truth Today.  All Scripture is INSPIRED BY GOD.  If we just pick and choose our own favorite scriptures that substantiate our belief's then we are abandoning the rest of God's Word at our peril.  It is a great loss to any individual who does not gain from the whole Bible, the entire Word of God.  All scripture means All scripture!

Do you read the Bible on a regular basis?  Do you read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation?  Do read the entire Bible once a year as a way of getting your daily bread?  We recommend that you place God's Word in your heart and mind and be able to teach yourself what is true and what is wrong.  Once you have done this, do what is right!  It takes more than a cursory look or one time study to place God's Word in your heart and mind.  We have found that when you can teach others what you have learned, then you start to know and understand God's Word.  If you can teach others about All the Scripture of God then you are also being INSPIRED BY GOD!

TURN AWAY FROM EVIL!

2 TIMOTHY 2: 19

"God's truth stands firm like a fountain stone, with this inscription:  The Lord knows who are His, and all who belong to the Lord must TURN AWAY FROM EVIL."

Do you believe in your heart that the Lord knows you?  Do you know the Lord and believe in Him?  Do you have the Lord's seal upon you?  There is a sure way to know if  you belong to the Lord or not.  When you accepted the Lord into your heart did  you TURN AWAY FROM EVIL!  If you were in an adulterous relationship, did you stop committing adultery after coming to Christ?  If you were an alcoholic or drug addict before coming to Christ have you given up hard liquor or drugs since then?  If you were involved in the evil of pornography and R rated materials before you accepted Christ, have you given them up all together?  That is how the Lord knows if you are His.  All who belong to the Lord have TURNED AWAY FROM EVIL!

Now that you are a believer, you know the commandments and the laws of God.  You have read His prophets and Word and you are expected to not just be a hearer, but a doer of the Word.  You are expected to turn toward the Lord and away from evil.  Have you changed, are you a new person in Christ Jesus.  If your answer is no, then you have not turned away from evil and made your path straight to the Lord.  You are not standing on the firm foundation of God's law.  Do you really believe that you can belong to God and not follow His Word?  God's truth is firm and is a rock you can stand on, if you belong to the Lord you must turn away from evil?

Are you hearing the voice of God and listening to His Word!  Have you given up your former wicked ways?  Do others see that you are a new person?  Have you turned your back on your old life and taken on a new life in Jesus Christ?  You must stand aloof from evil and flee it if you are a child of God.  Either you have or have not done this.  God knows if you are listening to Him.  Saying you will do so in the future is not a sufficient answer.  Let your yes be yes and your no be no.  If you have not turned away from your evil ways, then you are not a child of God and you should not fool your self, for you can not fool God.  TURN AWAY FROM EVIL!

THE PLAIN TRUTH!

2 TIMOTHY 1: 10

"Now God has made everything PLAIN to us by the appearing of Jesus Christ our Saviour, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel."

There is just so much truth in this short scripture from Timothy.  Think about it, what would our life be like if God had not made the "good news" plain to us by the appearing, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ?  The prophets messages would not have been fulfilled and the Word would not have come  to earth in the flesh.  It is not mere words that had been uttered by God and His prophets, they had been fulfilled and made plain in Jesus Christ.  The plan that had been concealed in the old testament has now been  revealed and verified.  What would it be like with no new testament, no Saviour, no proof of eternal life in Heaven?

When Jesus appeared and lived among us we benefited with the Gospels of His disciples.  What if we had no new testament to edify and explain God's plan for our lives and eternal souls?   It is natural for man to want physical proof of a spiritual truth.  You can believe in something tangible and real when the Word becomes flesh and dwells among us.  We could see, hear and touch the living God.  The miracle was observed and written about and the Good News was now available to men of all ages.  We rely on this truth today and that is why the Gospel is Plain to all of us by the appearing of Jesus Christ.

It was God's purpose and plan to make known and fully disclose His Son Jesus Christ.  When He appeared, he annulled death and made eternal life possible.  Death no longer had an effect on us.  The resurrection of Jesus brought us new life and immortality.  What a wonderful plan the Lord had all along and now God has made everything plain to us by the appearing of Jesus Christ.  Our Saviour abolished death and brought immortality and life to light through His Gospel.  It is so wonderful to have available to all men THE PLAIN TRUTH!

TRUE GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT!

1 TIMOTHY 6: 6-7

"TRUE GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT is itself  great wealth.  After all we brought nothing with us when we came into this world, and we can take nothing with us when we leave it!"

Are you content with what you have or do you always want more?  Is winning the lottery one of your greatest aspirations and the answer to your dreams?  Does obtaining money or wealth take up a significant portion of your time every day?  If you desire contentment and peace and joy then you have to make up your mind about who's economy you should pursue, man's or God's!  What will it profit you if you gained the wealth of the entire world and yet lost true Godliness and your eternal soul?  TRUE GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS ITSELF GREAT WEALTH!

If you want to gain something let it be your treasures that you build up for heaven.  There is only one true and abundant wealth and that will be a gift from the Lord.  You will only be content when you comprehend that nothing is owned by you and nothing you have will be taken by you to your eternal destination.  Godliness with contentment is the only true great and abundant wealth or gain.  Your profit lies in respecting the Lord and how He spoils His children.  He is the treasure you are seeking.  Remember that the Lord's treasury is eternal and that He owns everything in all the Universe.  If the Lord is your Shepard you will have everything that you will ever need.

What did you have at birth?  You only had your eternal soul and spirit that will spend eternity in one of two ultimate locations.  You will make a choice as to whether you believe Jesus Christ the Lord God and ask Him to save you, or you will reject the free gift of life and that eternal.  What will take with you when you die to this world?  The same thing you had when you were born.  You will take nothing physical or tangible.  Your soul, when it is absent from your body will be present with the Lord, if you have believed in Him and confessed your sins.  Your relationship with the Lord will determine how you live here on earth, but more importantly where you will spend eternity.  Pray for contentment that comes with a growing and deeper relationship with you creator.  Become more like Christ every day.  Reject the things of this earth and instead cry out for TRUE GODLINESS AND CONTENTMENT!

SOME SINS AND GOOD DEEDS ARE NOT OBVIOUS!

1 TIMOTHY 5: 24-25

"Remember, the sins of some people are obvious, leading them to certain judgement.  There are others whose sin will not be revealed until later.  In the same way, the good deeds of some people are obvious.  The good deeds done in secret will someday come to light."

The sins that some people commit are obvious to everyone.  This One Truth Today tells us that the sin will lead to certain judgement.  Unless that sin is confessed to Jesus Christ and they are forgiven the consequences are eternal.  This scripture also tells us of secret sins that are only known to God.  They will be revealed later, but the same principal applies, if they are not confessed and forgiven they will have consequences.  We must remember to be faithful to confess all our sins to the Lord and seek His mercy and forgiveness.  Everything that we have done in the dark will be seen in His light.  What we have whispered to others will be shouted from the house tops.  Have you prepared to meet the Lord?

Some good deeds we have done are obvious and conspicuous.  They can not be concealed and are known to others.  Other good deeds are done in secret and are known only to ourselves.  Your left hand may not know what the right hand has done.  No good deed can be hidden from God and they will be rewarded later at the time of judgement.  That is how we can build up treasures in heaven.  They may have been done in a void but they will return to you.  The good deeds done in secret will come to light.

So what is it that we are to learn from Timothy and the Lord?   There will be no hidden sin and all sins must be confessed to God in order to be forgiven.  The Lord is faithful to forgive us of all of our sins if we beg for His mercy and confess.  At the time of judgement all sins will be revealed and we have all sinned and all need a Saviour.  Confess right now to the Lord of all your sins.  In the same way all good deeds are known and will come to light at the time of judgement, even those done in secret.  The Lord will acknowledge what we have done for others.  He will show us all the treasures that we have built up in Heaven in response to our good deeds.  That is the encouragement that the Word gives us today!

SPIRITUAL TRAINING!

1 TIMOTHY 4: 8

"Physical training is good, but training for Godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and the life to come."

Do you do a physical work out every day?  Are you involved in a training program that requires you time and effort on a regular basis?  Are you attempting to keep your body young and beautiful?  How much time and what kind of training program do you have to achieve personal Godliness?  Do you give the same effort to them both?  The young and beautiful body is a losing cause and in the end one thing happens to us all.  The training for Godliness is much better because if give you benefits in this life and in the life to come.  How is your SPIRITUAL TRAINING?

Your earthly body will benefit from physical training, but for only the short time you have on earth.  Spiritual training is so much more useful and beneficial because it will help you eternally.  You will be absent from this body at one point in time, but you will be with the Lord if you are a believer.  When you consider the end results of your effort, where do you think it is more profitable to spend your time and energy?  This does not mean that we should let our earthly body go to pot, physical training is good.  Training for Godliness is much better both now and eternally.

Reading and digesting and putting into action scripture is a way to improve you Godliness.  Attending church and joining with other believer's is training for Godliness.  Sermons and daily bible reading help your spirit to grow.  Learning about the Prophets and the Laws of God help us to understand God's will.  Our daily bread should be the Word of God, it will nourish us and increase our Godliness.  The more we eat, the more we grow and the more our spirit is nourished.  You want to be healthy, it is more important to grow spiritually then physically.     So where should we spend a part of every day, that will lead to the greatest reward.  The answer is SPIRITUAL TRAINING!

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!

PROVERBS 25: 21-22

"If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat.  If they are thirsty, give them water to drink.  You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you."

Who is your enemy?  Is anyone threatening you or your family, country or religion?  What should you do?  The man of flesh wants to have revenge and hurt his enemies.  Jesus Christ tells us that the right answer is to LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!  Mankind has been using the tit for tat response since time began and where has it gotten anyone?  Insanity can be defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.  If you are acting in the flesh toward your enemies then you will get the same result and you could be considered insane.  The solution to the problem is to use God's Word and God's ways and LOVE YOUR ENEMY!

Jesus expects us to love our enemies and to bless them that curse us and do good to them that hate us.  We are to pray for our enemies and those that despitefully use us and persecute us.  The Lord wants us to overcome evil with good.  This proverb is specific, if your enemy is hungry then feed him and if he is thirsty then give him a drink of water.  The Lord will reward you and your enemy will have burning coals of shame on their heads.  The idea is that it is difficult or impossible to hate someone that loves you and supplies your needs.  If you support and and show goodness and kindness to your enemy it will have an affect and they will change their position about you.  How would you react in the same circumstances?

Lets put this One Truth Today to the test.  Let  us see if the Lord will reward those who do His Word and not just hear His Word.  Think of someone that you think of as an enemy or someone who thinks of you as an enemy.  Now apply the proverb.  Give them something that you know they need.  Love them instead of hating them.  If you are having a problem with your mother or father, brother or sister start there.  Demonstrate your love to them rather than what you have been doing.  Overcome the evil in the relationship by providing the good.  If you believe Christ you do not have another option.  Do not keep doing the insane things of the past
