PUT NO TRUST IN HUMAN EFFORT!

PHILIPPIANS 3:3

"We rely on what Jesus Christ has done for us. We PUT NO TRUTST IN HUMAN EFFORTS!"

Who do you rely on? Are you going to rely on yourself? Have you learned to rely on your parents, or the government, or something else? The One Truth Today tells us to PUT NO TRUST IN HUMAN EFFORT! We rely on what Jesus Christ has done for us! When the moment of truth comes, and everything is on the line, who will you turn to for help and the right answer? If you are relying on anyone made of flesh and blood, and that includes yourself, to save you, then you are in for a great disappointment. You may receive some temporary satisfaction from human efforts but they will never be of any use when your end comes. We are all going to die and no one, including yourself will be able to Save you and give you New Life. Jesus Christ has all ready done it for those who accept His free gift of eternal life!

We can never put our confidence or depend on anything in the flesh. We have no outward privilege, external appearance, or physical advantage that could ever allow us to depend on ourselves. Our flesh, like our lives is deteriorating and fleeting. No man or collection of men can ever come to our rescue. Who can you rely on to Save you? We rely on what Jesus Christ has done for us! We PUT NO TRUST IN HUMAN EFFORT! The finished work of Jesus Christ was done on the Cross for our sins and we have but to accept the free gift of Salvation.

As Christians we worship God by and through His Spirit. Our pride and our glory are not in ourselves but in the finished work of the Lord. That is something that we can rejoice in at all times and in every way. We have a Saviour who is not subject to death and He can give us all new life. Now that is the only thing in this world that you can rely on. Nothing in the human realm will survive in its flesh. That is why you can PUT NO TRUST IN A HUMAN EFFORT! That is why we rely on what Jesus Christ has done for us! If some one asks you what you rely on, what will be your answer?

GOD IS WITH US!

MATTHEW 1: 23

"Look the virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a Son. They will call Him Immanuel, which means GOD IS WITH US!"

Are you aware that God is with you right now? The God who made the Universe and everything in it, is with us right now! Many people fail to hear, believe and understand this One Truth Today. Jesus Christ the Lord God became a human being made of flesh and blood. You could see Him and you could touch Him and it was true, as the angel proclaimed, GOD IS WITH US! When we grasp hold of the awesome power and truth in that one statement, we become a true believer and a child of God! The Holy Spirit remained when Jesus Ascended into Heaven and He is with us right now! The mind of God is above our minds and although it may be hard for our human mind to comprehend, GOD IS WITH US!

Mary, the virgin, conceived a child from the Holy Spirit and gave birth to the Son of God, Jesus Christ. The reason He was called Immanuel, as one of His many names, is because He was here in the flesh. GOD IS WITH US! That is literally what was meant by the angel. All this is documented and witnessed by so many that there is no reason to doubt its veracity and credibility. This awesome event did not occur in a vacuum. The "Good News", has stood the test of time and our whole world revolves around this one event. Imagine holding the God of the Universe in your hands. How can anyone completely comprehend the mind of God!

We know that wise men still seek Him and find Him. We know that just as at the time of His birth and life men came and fell at His feet. Wise men still present gifts to Him, the best of which is their heart! You do not have to follow a star to find Him anymore. You do not have to go anywhere or perform any act. From that day to this GOD IS WITH US! He is right here, right now and we need to grasp and realize that Truth. Have you heard and grasped the message of the angel and the Lord? God is everywhere, at all times, and He is with us right now! Praise the Lord, GOD IS WITH US!

GIVE IT UP!

LUKE 14: 33

" You can not become my disciple without GIVING UP everything that you own!"

The Word tells us that we came into this world with nothing, and we will take nothing with us when we go! What possessions are important to you in this life? Have you realized who owns everything here on earth and in the heavens above, including all that you think you possess? You may be the temporary steward of some things here on earth but they do not belong to you. You may have the title to a home of a car but you can not take them with you to the grave. The earth and everything in it belongs to the Lord God. The One Truth Today is to let you know that in order to be a disciple of Jesus Christ the Lord God you have to give up the ownership to everything that you possess. Better yet, is understanding that you never owned it anyway and that it all belongs to Him. GIVE IT UP!

Covetousness and greed are a sin. We are not to be jealous of anyone because of what they possess. We are breaking one of God's commandments when we cling or hoard anything of this world. It is foolishness to be jealous of what others have, for there will always be someone with more than you. You must learn to be content with what the Lord has given to you and not focus on what you do not have. If the Lord is your Shepard, you will have "all that you need". The issue is whether or not you are being a good steward of His property. If you want to be a child of God or a disciple of the Lord, take everything that you have and tell Him you are ready to GIVE IT UP!

We need to forsake, renounce, and surrender any claim we have to anything here on earth. Know that you will be saying goodbye to all earthly possessions. You never really owned them in the first place. God allowed us to have and use things on a temporary basis and He does not want us to get too attached to the things of this life. Remember this is not your home. We are pilgrims, passing through, to our home in Heaven. If you are a good steward of what you are given on earth you will be given more to manage in Heaven. So when you understand the One Truth Today it is really quite simple and so easy for believer's to JUST GIVE IT UP!

REPENT OF YOUR SINS!

LUKE 13: 3

"You too will perish, unless you REPENT OF YOUR SINS, and turn to God!"

Remember the cartoons where a man in a robe with long hair is holding a sign that says; REPENT SINNERS, THE END IS NEAR? Sometimes it says the "KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND - REPENT". There is always a joke that makes fun of the entire concept. Do you think the One Truth Today is funny? It is not a joke and you should not be misled by those that denigrate the Word of God! The sign, and this scripture, are the Truth and no one should mock God without understanding the peril! It is not funny if anyone perishes and spends eternity separated from God in Hell. The consequences of not heeding the message is eternal damnation. If you do not REPENT OF YOUR SINS, AND TURN TO GOD, your end is near and you have failed to realize that THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND, and you failed to understand!

Repent means to turn around and change your mind and the way you are going. Take the path that leads to God and stop taking the path away from God, and His Kingdom. You need to ask for forgiveness of your previous sins, and then stop sinning against God. You need to take a new direction with a new heart. You will learn to abhor your past and your sinning and you will make the Lord first in your life and try to be more like Him in every way. You have not repented if you keep on sinning in a habitual way against the Word of God. If you keep on stealing or committing adultery, for example, you have failed to REPENT OF YOUR SINS! If you are abusing alcohol or drugs and you continue to do so on a regular basis, you have failed to REPENT OF YOUR SINS! You too will perish unless you repent of your sins and turn to God!

You can not mock God. If you say you have repented and turned to God and yet you continue in your carnal ways, you are only fooling yourself, not God. The consequences are eternal and include separation from God and eternal damnation for your soul. You are responsible for your choices and only you can change your mind and your heart and listen to the message of God. Do not blame God if you reject Him and His Word for you caused the separation between you and Him. His justice is perfect and your will has lead to your disposition. We are not puppets on a string, being manipulated by God. You have one thought, and one act at a time that you control and you are responsible for. Do you think it is a joke when the Lord tries to tell people to REPENT OF YOUR SINS? Is it humorous to realize that THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND? Are you oblivious to the fact that THE END IS NEAR? You will perish to, unless you repent of your sins, and turn to God!

DELIVER US FROM EVIL!

PROVERBS 12: 21

"No harm comes to the Godly, but the wicked have their fill of trouble."

The One Truth Today tells us that, in the end, God makes sure that no harm comes to the Godly! It also tells us that the wicked, who are prone to evil, condemn themselves to having their fill of trouble. Do you believe the Lord, and are you sure in your heart that He will DELIVER US FROM EVIL! This is the blessing of the God who loves us. There is no eternal harm that can afflict us as believer's. On the other hand the wicked will always have their fill of trouble and misfortune that goes on for eternity. They do not have a Saviour and they do not believe that they can be snatched out of their trouble. God could Save them, but He respects their personal choices and decisions of acceptance or rejection. If they only knew they would cry out, DELIVER US FROM EVIL!

Isaiah tells us that even in our old age, when our hair is white, the Lord will carry us and bear our burdens. Jesus Christ the Lord God will Save us from death and damnation. Timothy confirms that the Lord will deliver us from every evil work! Job exclaims that the Lord will save us in our time of trouble and no evil will ever touch us! So the message of the scriptures is clear, no harm will come to the Godly in the end! The other side of the message is also clear, that the wicked will have their fill of trouble now and for eternity. If you can hear this message, cry out to the Lord, DELIVER US FROM EVIL!

In verse 13 of Proverb 12, we are told that the wicked are dangerously snared by the transgressions of their lips. They spit out the seeds that are harvested and must be eaten in their future. Be careful what you say and what you think and remember that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. If we reject God and disrespect Him then we are courting evil and wickedness and we will reap what we sow. Our choice and our consequence. The righteous will come out of trouble. As a child of God, no actual evil or misfortune can overcome you. If you know God you also know that He can DELIVER US FROM EVIL!

I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK!

REVELATION 3: 20

"Look! I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and we will share a meal together as friends."

Can you visualize our One Truth Today? The Lord is standing outside the door to your heart right now. What is more important, He is knocking and if you can hear His voice and you come and open the door and invite Him in, He will come in and dwell with you and share a meal with you and you will become friends. Have you ever heard the voice of Jesus Christ the Lord God and heard Him knocking on the door to your heart? Have you ignored the Lord? LOOK, I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK! If you have that empty feeling in your life and you somehow know that you are incomplete, maybe you should listen a little closer! Remember the Lord said, I stand at the door and knock, He did not say He would knock the door down! It is up to you to hear His voice and open the door, so that He can come in and dwell in your heart!

The Lord gave all of us a free will and the ability to make our own choices. Jesus Christ will not force His way into your life. Will you hear Him and respect Him and invite Him to be a part of you life, or will you ignore Him and reject Him. If you reject Him and cover your ears, you will condemn yourself and be separated from Him forever. Your choice, your consequence and the result will be eternal. You can make the right choice today, right now! When you hear the voice of the Lord and hear Him knocking at the door to your heart you must voluntarily open the door and invite Him in. The Lord wants to come and fill your heart with the Holy Spirit and He wants to dwell with you. He wants to share your life and your love and to be with you until the end of time. LOOK, I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK!

The Lord's knock is gentle and full of love, inviting a relationship with anyone who will listen and heed His Words! Are you listening? Are you to busy, or too bright and sophisticated, or so well educated by the world that the sound is muffled and disturbed? It is the still small voice that can be heard, if you will only listen. Your heart must be opened by you personally and that is the choice that determines life or death. Jesus will give you life, and that abundantly if you invite Him in to dwell with you. You two will join together forever. Listen carefully and think about all the other times there was a gentle knock at the door of your heart. What did you do? If you hear His Voice and His knock and realize that He is at the door to your heart right now, you can be Saved! LOOK I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK!

EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED!

LUKE 12: 31

"Seek the kingdom of God above all else, and the Lord will give you EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED!"

Remember the song, "all you need is love"? It is true and we need to remember that God is Love! The Lord will give you EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED! There is one assumption for that to occur. Did you seek the kingdom of God above all else? The One Truth Today is a key message of the scriptures. Seek first, and above all else, the kingdom of God, and then EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED will be added unto you. Notice it is not everything that you want, it is everything that you need. By keeping the first thing first, we are rewarded. Keeping the Lord first in your life is a way of assuring that you will have all that you need.

Another good piece of advise from the Lord Jesus, in this same chapter, is that we are "not to worry about anything". We are not to worry about what we will wear, or eat, or about our bodies. Your eternal life will be in perfection and it is much more than your earthly, momentary passage. The Lord wants us to consider how He provides for all the living creatures of the earth. He will provide us with so much more. Do not get caught up in the things of this world for they are all going to burn. What is it that every person needs? All you need is Love, all you need is God. The Lord will provide you with EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED!

Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and then everything will be added unto you! The first commandment tells us to worship God and Him only, and have no other gods' before Him. If you are chasing after wealth and possessions here on earth, your idol will never be in your grasp. We do not need a big home, fancy car, or a lot of money to have all that we need! Remember you brought nothing into this world and you will take nothing with you when you go. If you love the Lord with all of our heart, mind, body, and soul you will have EVERY THING THAT YOU NEED! We do not need perfect health, or a perfect body, clothed in splendor to enter the kingdom of Heaven. We just need to be a child of God. You can not add a single moment to your life, nor can you Save yourself. Seek first the kingdom of God, above all else, and the Lord will give you EVERYTHING THAT YOU NEED!
