MEETING TOGETHER!

HEBREWS 10: 25

"let us not neglect our MEETING TOGETHER, as some people do. Encourage one another, especially now that the Day of Jesus return is drawing near."

Some people never go to Church, or meet together with other believer's. Some people only go to Church on Easter Sunday or Christmas day. They believe that they can be Christians without going to Church or meeting with other Christians. What do you believe? The One Truth Today is very clear and unambiguous. We should not neglect our MEETING TOGETHER, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of Jesus Christ's return in drawing near! It is not good to be a "closet Christian". True faith is not a secret and impossible to hide from others. We live in a country and at a time when it is possible to meet and worship with our brothers and sisters. Until the Lord's return, we need to keep MEETING TOGETHER!

We are not to forsake one another or neglect gathering together with one another. If you avoid church you have no excuse. His peace is to be found with other believer's and there is a great joy in worshiping together. Your spirit can be lifted by like believer's who join with you in song and prayer. They can hold us accountable for our walk with the Lord. They reinforce the Word of God and His Laws. No man is an island unto himself and you are no exception. There is safety and security in being a part of a body of believer's. Keep MEETING TOGETHER!

The outside world is becoming more dangerous and evil every day. The Sanctuary of the Church is impenetrable. God's house is a Rock to Stand On. Decisions for you life require good counselors and they can be found in your Church. If you draw away into seclusion it can be a lonely and depressing place. Instead maintain your first Love and your first Joy of worshiping the Lord by meeting with like minded Christians. Jesus Christ the Lord God is returning for us soon and He tells us in this scripture that we should not neglect our MEETING TOGETHER!

FOREVER!

HEBREWS 13: 8

"Jesus Christ is THE SAME, YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER!

Here on earth the only thing that is constant is change. We are here today and gone tomorrow. If you do not like the weather, wait a while and it will change. Can you think of anything in this world that is not changing, no matter how slowly? How about your body, your home, your city or country. Even the changes in the heavenly bodies can be measured. So is there anything that is in the universe that is not changing? Is there a constant, an absolute? The answer is yes and the answer is Jesus Christ, the Lord God. JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER! That is a constant that is absolutely true!

Most people do not like change. We do not want to move, or change jobs, or make new friends.
Inside of us there is a desire for stability and constant reliability. We do not like flux and change and would prefer a rock solid foundation that can not be moved. This creates a real problem and a tension between reality and desire. Changes in our lives can be accompanied by anger, fear and tears. The One Truth Today is here to bring us peace and contentment if we are a child of God. If you have the Lord in your life you can be sure of your future and know without question that the Lord Jesus Christ never changes. Jesus is Forever!

Jesus Christ was from the beginning and He has no end. He came to earth and dwelt among us and then ascended to heaven to make an eternal home for all who believe in Him. There is so much proof of all this that is irrefutable to anyone but a fool! Only a fool says in his heart that there is no God! So unlike ourselves and our world that changes constantly, the Lord Never Changes and is the Same Forever. He is not subject to time or space or the elements. God is and will always be eternal. That is how He can give to us eternal life for our soul. That is the "Good News". JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME, YESTERDAY, TODAY AND FOREVER!

THE LORD'S DISCIPLINE!

HEBREWS 12: 5

"Have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as His child? Do not make light of THE LORD'S DISCIPLINE, and do not give up when He corrects you! The Lord disciplines those He loves, and He punishes each one He accepts as His child."

Do you discipline your children? You do if you love your children. Good parents teach and instruct their children to keep them from harm and to correct their behavior. When you were disciplined did you interpret that as hatred on the part of your parents or did you learn from them acceptable behavior. THE LORD'S DISCIPLINE is like yours, sometimes encouraging words sometimes punishment for bad behavior. The Lord corrects you because He Loves you and He punishes you because you are His child. To spare the rod is to spoil the child. If He spanks you, you will not die, but He may save you from death! Many forms of discipline are actually acts of encouragement and love, intended to teach responsibility and keep you on the right path. The discipline is really an expression of Love!

We must never forget the divine Word of God and we should welcome discipline on ourselves and our children. God always has a good reason which is to teach and instruct us in life and to help us find the righteous path to Him. Do not reject this discipline or act with scorn, instead submit to His correction, understanding His love. Do not give up your Love of God because He corrects you, instead feel secure in that He disciplines those He loves. If you do not listen and heed the discipline you will have further instruction in store.

It is the Lord's desire that everyone open the door to their heart and invite Him in to dwell with them. He wants to make you His Child. He wants to be your Father. He loves and cares about us and because of this He will encourage you and He will discipline you. He punishes you if you deserve it. Like any good parent his motive is to make you a better person. Lack of discipline is lack of Love. If you truly care about someone you want to teach and instruct them in order to protect them from harm, even death. If you are a child of God do not rebuke the Lord or mistake His discipline for anything but His love for you. Instead stop and learn from the lesson you have been given. We should actually invite and encourage THE LORD'S DISCIPLINE!

TRUE WISDOM!

PSALM 111: 10

"Fear of the Lord is the foundation of TRUE WISDOM. All who obey His commandments will grow in TRUE WISDOM!

Have you ever been amazed at the amount of knowledge that some people possess? Think of the $64,000 question show. Do you believe that because someone has a great deal of knowledge that they have TRUE WISDOM? TRUE WISDOM and knowledge are two different things. Just because you have degrees from Universities does not mean you are wise. When politicians and leaders pontificate about how they will solve the problems of the world, do they actually display wisdom? We must beware of those who try to fool us with knowledge while at the same time they are incapable of TRUE WISDOM. How do we know? The fear of the Lord is the foundation of all true wisdom. If they do not fear God, they may have knowledge and learning skills but they will never have TRUE WISDOM!

There is only one foundation and one cornerstone for TRUE WISDOM. To know, love and Fear Jesus Christ the Lord God. True learning and wisdom come from the Word of God. The reverent fear and worship of the Lord God is the beginning of wisdom. The essential element and the prerequisite of any wisdom, in fact its very foundation is found in the FEAR OF THE LORD! The Lord must be first in everything in your life if you are to be considered wise. If you follow the commandments and obey His Word you will be wise. If you walk in His ways and make your path straight to the Lord you will be wise. The beginning of your wisdom is your Fear of God!

Before you believe any political leader, professor or anyone in authority over you, ask yourself this one question. Do they Fear God? Do they love and serve the Lord? Is the Lord and His Word the foundation of their life? Do they obey God's commandments and follow His Laws?
If they do not fear the Lord then they do not have even the beginning of wisdom. Why would you place your trust in such a person? Only a fool says in his heart there is no God, are you listening to a fool? This person does not deserve your allegiance. There are only two groups of people in the world. Those who Fear God, as the foundation of their wisdom, and those who reject God and do not even know Him. TRUE WISDOM is only found in those that Fear, Know and Love God!

WHAT IS FAITH?

HEBREWS 11: 1

"FAITH is confidence that what we hope for will actually happen. FAITH gives us assurance about the things we can not see."

There is something that transcends our five senses. If you can not see, hear, touch, smell or taste something, that does not mean that it does not exist. We are talking about Spiritual things that may be impossible to analyze with your senses. Love and faith and God all fall into that area of life. Before Jesus Christ the Messiah was born, all His believer's had to have faith that the plan of God would actually happen. Until the Lord was born into this world in the flesh they could not use their senses to know God, but they still had FAITH in the Lord! For one generation, people were able to see, hear, touch, smell and taste the sweetness of the Lord. Since His death and resurrection people have not had the ability to experience the Lord in the flesh, but they now have FAITH in His triumphant return. The definition of FAITH is believing and perceiving as a real fact that which you can not confirm with your senses. Do you have FAITH?

Do you have confidence that as a child of God you have an eternal future in Heaven with the Lord? Do you hold the deed to your heavenly mansion even though you have not taken possession? Do you Trust the Word of God and have assurance and confidence that what He has promised, He will deliver? To some, heaven is pie in the sky, and they do not believe the promises of God or have FAITH in His Word. They can not grasp the substance of things hoped for and without the evidence of the senses they are incapable of believing. FAITH is why we can be confident that what we hope for will actually happen. We have assurance and know that even though we can not see it now, it will happen just as the Word of God tells us.

Based on your experience do you believe that the sun will rise each morning? That future action is not based on your senses, but is based on belief or faith. You have confidence and hope that the future will replicate the past. Is this blind faith? What kind of FAITH does it take to know that the Word of God has been sure in the past and therefore it will be sure in the future? With the Peace and Assurance of the Word of God we can believe what we can not see and we can be sure that His promises will actually happen. We may not see it now, but we know in our hearts that we will see it in our eternal future. That is how we DEFINE FAITH!

THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED!

ISAIAH 57: 20

"Those who still reject me are like the restless sea, which is never still but continually churns up mud and dirt. THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED
says God!"

Do you feel like your world is in constant turmoil? Are you at peace today or is it still a rough and restless sea for you? How is it that some people can handle any situation that arises and remain calm and peaceful, while others are continually churned up like mud and dirt in a restless sea? Have you still rejected Jesus Christ the Lord God? THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED, says the Lord. If you want the peace that passes understanding, the peace of the Lord, then you have to believe in Him and open the door to your heart and invite Him in to dwell with you. The Righteousness of Jesus Christ will give you a new heart and a new life and you will be forgiven of your sins and you will walk in His paths and in His peace!

The Lord wants everyone to experience His peace, even here on earth. He has promised us peace on earth to men in God's will. The real issue then becomes, are you in God's will or are you still living in the flesh and your own will? If you have a spirit that is contrite and humble and is seeking to be more like Jesus Christ, you will walk in God's path and His Will. If you have a repentant heart the Lord will not fight against you. Have you still rejected Jesus Christ the Lord God? Those who still reject me are like the restless sea, which is never still but continually churns up mud and dirt. THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED SAYS GOD!

If you are still trying to control your world and be your own god, you will find there is no peace and you will not be able to save yourself. Face it, you know there is something wrong with your life and there is something missing. Your are worried and afraid and you are in constant turmoil. Your life is empty and never complete. What could possibly fill this void and bring you peace? God tells us He will give us abundant and everlasting peace. Does that sound good to you? The Lord will answer you quickly because He is right there with you, right now. Open the door to your heart and invite Him in right now. Believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and you will have the peace that passes understanding. If you stay on the path you are on you will find that THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED!

SAVE YOUR CHILDREN!

PROVERBS 23: 13-14

"Do not fail to discipline your children. They will not die if you spank them.
Physical discipline may well SAVE THEM from death."

There is a theory that is present to this day about spanking your children. Dr. Spock promoted not spanking children and psychologists and psychiatrists have joined in the chorus. Our One Truth Today is from the Word of God. Who do you trust? If you believe that it is unacceptable to use physical force at any time or for any reason to discipline your child you are at odds with God! We all want to control bad behavior on the part of our children and using brute force is not the best answer and can be abused. Soon it may be a crime for any parent to use any physical force to discipline their children, but the Lord points out that spanking them will not cause them to die and it may well SAVE YOUR CHILDREN from death!

The Word of God tells us that "to spare the rod is to spoil the child", and you know that is true!
This may disagree with Dr. Spock and his followers but I would rather listen to the Word of God than a dead human who did not have the Power to save himself from death! I do not want my children or their children to die from a lack of discipline. Physical discipline, such as spanking, is a tried and true method to get attention and respect for your teachings. If you do not discipline your child, they will eventually be disciplined by others in authority for their bad behavior. Bad behavior leads to bad consequences and your lack of discipline may be the cause of them continuing bad behaviors. They may avoid the pain of a spanking but they may suffer much more serious consequences from society, such as jail, separation or death. Bad behavior tends to escalate and instead of minor punishments, more severe punishment may result!

Do you love your child enough to do your Godly duty as a parent? Have you lost your authority over you children and are they spoiled? We know that it often hurts the parent more that the child to spank them, but it is the Godly thing to do. Idle threats that are not backed up by physical discipline are ineffective and can lead to escalating bad behavior. If your children are ignoring you or questioning your authority it is more dangerous for the child then for you! We will never agree with abusive discipline and that is not what this scripture advises. On the other hand your children will not die if you spank them! In fact God tells us that physical discipline may well save your children from death. You have a responsibility as a parent to
SAVE YOUR CHILDREN! Who do you believe God or men?
