DON'T GIVE IN!

PROVERBS 25:26

"If the Godly give in to the wicked, it is like polluting a fountain or muddying a spring."

Would you like to get your drinking water from a muddy spring? Would you like a fountain in your yard that was mucked up and dirty? Most of us want clear, pure, healthy waters for our use. The truth for today is meant to paint us a picture of what happens when the Godly give in to the wicked and what happens to purity! It is clear that in order to keep your water source pure and clean you can not allow contamination to enter. That contamination comes from the wicked and ungodly and destroys beauty and purity.

We must avoid compromising our integrity before the wicked. We have to be strong and resolute when it comes to their attempts to muddy our fountains or pollute our sources of water. We can never yield to this contamination or we pollute ourselves. What are some examples that bring this point home. We can not allow our children to be contaminated with improper language on television or in our environments. The wicked want to introduce one swear word after another. We must not allow pornographic pictures to be seen by anyone Godly. They will contaminate just as mud does to water. We must not allow homosexual conduct to be seen as an alternative life style that is acceptable to believer's. God calls it an abomination in His sight!

If you allow a camel to stick his nose in the tent, the head will follow and soon they will be sleeping with you. If you take a little contamination and add it to a little more contamination, soon you will be living in a mud bath. If you give in to sin and immorality and believe it will not have an affect on you or you lives, you are being blinded to the truth. It is too late to change things after the motto is anything goes. We as Godly people have a responsibility to keep the faith and truth and be the salt of the earth. We are to keep contamination and rotting under control. Are you doing your part. What do you watch on TV or movies. What do you allow or accept that is contrary to God's word. DON'T GIVE IN!

MONEY IS NOT THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL!

1 TIMOTHY 6:10

"For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows."

Money is not the root of all evil. This false statement has been perpetuated forever. Now it is accepted as fact that those that have or want money are evil. That is not what God said in His word and it is important to understand what He really meant. It is the LOVE of money that is not acceptable to God. He is a jealous God and will not have any other God's before Him. The Love of Money is just another human God that is meant to replace the one true God. Greed and avarice are idols of gold, jewels, money and possessions.

The love of money is the root of ALL KINDS OF EVIL. Notice it is not all evil that is the result. It is all kinds of evil. The source and basis of evil is the devil and his minions. Yes, the devil can and will use money as a tool to perpetrate his evil ways, but money in and of itself has no morality or conscience. It is this craving for money that some have led some astray. They wander away from their faith in God who is the source of all things. The best statement here is that the Lord is my Shepard, I have all that I need. I do not love money, I love God.

Many acute mental pangs have pierced people and caused untold sorrow because they have failed to listen and learn from this scripture. The truth for today is quite simple and quite plain to anyone who listens with faith. Some people eager for money have wandered from the true faith. If you Love God and place Him first in your life, seeking Him first in everything, then everything else will be added unto you. Included in that is money. Do not love money, Love God. Avoid craving money and you will avoid all kinds of evil.

A MYSTERY REVEALED

1 TIMOTHY 3:16

"Jesus Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Holy Spirit. He was seen by angels and announced to the nations. He was believed in throughout the world and taken to heaven in glory."

Without question, what is the great mystery of our faith? How was that mystery revealed? What is the hardest thing for a non believer to accept about God? Can you imagine how we could know God without the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ? We would still be wondering about God and His nature and we would have only limited answers. We would see the Glory of His universe and power but we would not know of His nature. Many believe it would be impossible to know God without the revealing of Jesus Christ, and His Holy Spirit. We need to know of His birth, life and death and His being taken to Heaven in Glory!

The truth was hidden from the world until Jesus Christ was revealed in a human body. This mystic secret of God was planned from the beginning but held from the world until Christ was revealed in a human body. God was made visible in human flesh. He was justified and vindicated in and by His Holy Spirit. He was seen and announced by the angels to the kingdoms and He grew to preach among the nations. He was believed in this world and sacrificed His body for our sins. He suffered a death on the cross but He rose again and was taken up in Glory to Heaven.

Because Jesus Christ was born in human flesh we could see Him, touch Him, hear Him and know Him on a personal level with our senses. Now we have a record of Jesus Christ the Lord God that informs of us His nature and His purpose. God is no longer a mystery unless you choose to reject Him and His Word. Jesus confirmed what the bible told us about God and add to that the way He taught us and showed us the straight and narrow path to follow. He revealed the mystery of God in a tangible and real way and without question that is the greatest mystery of our faith. Why would God descend to us? To save us! A MYSTERY REVEALED!

FOLLOW ME!

LUKE 9:23

"If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross daily, and FOLLOW ME!"

What does Jesus expect from us if we surrender to Him and open our heart to His Holy Spirit? This would apply to any and all of us who say we are believer's. The truth for today explains what a follower of Jesus should do. If you say you want to be a follower of Jesus, He expects us to repent of our prior life and sins. Repenting means to turn around and stop following your own path and turn toward the Lord and His ways. If you have habitually been committing a sin such as drunkenness or sexual immorality, He expects you to stop right now and turn from such behavior and learn and then walk in His path. It is selfish for you to want your own way in the future. You must walk in His way.

Just as Jesus had to take up His cross and suffer, He expects you to do the same on a daily basis. Every day you must think of yourself as being more and more like Jesus and walking in the foot steps that He laid down for us. Like Jesus we are to give our lives for others and be willing to sacrifice ourselves to save others.

Jesus said to all of us, if you want to come after Me, deny yourself and lose sight of your own interests. Give yourself up and take up the cross daily. Follow me and become more like me. Conform to my example and hold on to me steadfastly. He means both in our living and if need be in our dying. We are to disown ourselves and lose sight of ourselves and keep our eyes upon Him. Now ask yourself, is the way I am acting and being today? Do you deny yourself? Can you say without question or hesitation that you are following Jesus today? Have you taken up His cross?

KNOW WHEN TO QUIT

PROVERBS 23:4-5

"Do not wear yourself out trying to be rich. Be wise enough to KNOW WHEN TO QUIT. In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle."

Is it your desire to be rich? How much money would be enough for you? what price are you willing to pay to achieve wealth and riches? If trying affects your physical or mental well being, your sexual or social life or your spiritual health are you still going to desire riches? Once you are rich how are you going to keep it? Will you desire turn into covetousness and then greed?

We spend such a short time here on earth, do you think it is wise to spend it laboring for riches? You came into this life with nothing and you will leave with nothing, that means that any riches you accumulate will go to others. That being true what is the relevance of trying to become rich at all?

You can wear yourself out trying to become rich and hurt yourself and others. Although the Lord gives gifts to His children you have to be wise enough to know when enough is enough and to quiet trying to be rich. It takes a wise person to know when that time comes. Even though we reap what we sew and giving is more blessed than receiving, there is a time to stop. Your wealth can disappear in the twinkling of an eye and fly away with wings like an eagle. DO YOU KNOW WHEN TO QUIT trying to be rich?
