GOD BE WITH YOU!

2 CORINTHIANS 13:11

"Be joyful. Grow to maturity. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace. Then the God of love and peace will be with you."

Many times one christian will say to another, "God be with you". I can not think of another thing that could be more important to anyone than to have God with them. Being in God's will is the goal of any good christian, and having God with them on the journey is the paramount experience. In fact we advise to add to any comment made about a goal you may have the phrase, "God willing". That is just another way of saying may God be with us. The truth for today is that God left us some advise on how to achieve this lofty goal.

We are to gain strength from this advice and then rejoice when we have received it. God wants us to be perfected and completed and made into what we should be. God wants to console us and comfort us and encourage us along the way. God wants us to be of one mind and agree with one another. He wants us to live in peace. In our vernacular, grow up and be joyful. Encourage one another and live in harmony and peace. This is the advice of the Lord.

God who is the source of all good will and affection, and the one of benevolence is the promoter of peace. If you want God to be with you, then align yourself with Him. Allow the Holy Spirit in your heart to take control and lead you in the path of righteousness. Always put the Word of the Lord first in every thought and decision that you make. Become one with the Lord and be more like Him in every way. Rejoice always and in every circumstance. Pray without ceasing and about everything. By seeking God in every way and every day you will able to say to others, GOD BE WITH YOU!

THE FATHER'S PLAN

GALATIANS 1:4

"Jesus gave His life for our sins, just as God our FATHER PLANNED, in order to save us from this evil world in which we live."

Why are we here? What is our purpose? What is life all about? What is the plan for our life and this earth? These questions have been asked since the beginning of man's time on earth. The plan was not revealed to man until the coming of Jesus Christ. That does not mean that the plan was not made or known from the beginning. On the contrary the truth for today tells us that God the Father had a plan that was from the beginning. The plan was to save men from their sin and save them from this evil world.

Jesus Christ is the Lord God and His plan was to yield Himself up to atone for our sins. Jesus plan was to save us and sanctify us. He did this in order to rescue us and deliver us from this present wicked and evil world. This was in accordance with His will and purpose. Jesus gave His live for our sins. That is the plan of God the Father and the Holy Spirit. God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that who ever would believe in Him would not perish but would be saved. This plan is still in progress to this day. It will remain in progress until the Lord comes again.

Now comes the part that each of us has to play in this plan of God. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord God and that He is the only one that can save you from this evil world? Have you opened the door to your heart and asked the Lord to come in and dwell with you? Have you been born again, in the spirit and the truth? Are you secure in the knowledge that Jesus Christ is your Saviour and that He will never leave you or desert you? Are you a part of the Father's plan of redemption and salvation? If you say no, then without making the right choice you have chosen to reject Jesus Christ and your decision still makes you a part of the Father's plan, only you have chosen a different ending and destination, one that is just.

DEFINITION OF A FOOL!

PSALM 53:1

"Only fools say in their hearts, There is no God. They are corrupt and their actions are evil; not one of them does good."

A person lacking judgement or prudence is called a fool. A deranged person or one lacking in the common powers of understanding is called a fool. These definitions apply in an even greater sense when we apply the truth for today. A fool says in his heart their is no God! To deny God is the ultimate form of lacking judgement or prudence. One has to be a deranged person lacking in even the common powers of observation and understanding to refute that there is no God. We can even go so far as to observe that their disbelief is evil and corrupt, in that they want to be there own god. Godless people are not good people, no not one.

In order to deny God, you have to deny the sun, moon, stars and universe. In order to deny God you have to reject His Word and Truth. In order to deny God you have to be willing to accept another hypothesis that is beyond belief and has no proof or basis in truth. Any other form of belief that has another substitute for God is without reason or merit. Making yourself as a humanist a god is the most ridiculous of them all. You can not even make dirt from nothing let alone a man. You can not save yourself and your rejection of the real God is more that evil.

We then have to ask ourselves this question. Why would anyone deny God. Because they are evil. Because they want to be God or like God. Because they commit heinous sins that are an abomination in the sight of God and they like to do it. Because they are defiant and rebellious and they will not allow anyone to tell them what to do. I can not wait for the day of judgement, how about you? Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord God. In the meantime here on earth the DEFINITION OF A FOOL is someone who says "there is no God."

WHO DO YOU TRUST?

ISAIAH 2:22

"Do not put your trust in mere humans, they are as frail as breath. What good are they?"

I have often told my family that they should never put their trust in a man. Humans will fail you every time. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. No one is good, no not even one. That means that it is folly to put our trust in mere humans. As Jesus said, " only God is good." There are so many examples of where our trust in someone was destroyed by some sinful act or revelation of their true character and morals. We then have to examine how there actions did not equal their words. It can make us question the truth and sincerity of that person. It should not make us question the Word of God that never fails and is always Truth!

Men are weak and frail and dying. They may have breath in their nostrils, but it is for such a short time in relation to our worlds time. We have to ask ourselves in comparison to all that has occurred and will occur, what is one man and what is their true worth. The lesson and the truth for today is that if you want to have absolute trust, have it in God and His Word. Always seek God and His Word first in everything that you do.

This does not mean that we can never trust anyone. The measure of trust will be equal to the comparison of the word of the man to the Word of God. The measure of trust will be equal to the actions of the man to the admonitions of God. It goes without saying that if someone does not even believe in God, then you should not have any trust in them. A fool says in his heart there is no God and why would we want to trust or rely on a fool? The beginning of wisdom is the fear of God and if someone does not fear God, then they have no wisdom. In God we Trust is more than just a slogan or imprint on our money. It is the way we need to live. WHO DO YOU TRUST? The answer is God.

WHAT DOES GOD WANT FROM ME?

PSALM 51:17-18

"The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit. You will not reject a broken and repentant heart O God."

The first question that many people ask themselves in any situation is, "what is expected of me". What do my parents want me to do? What is it that the teachers want me to learn? what is my job description? Directed toward any entity the question is WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? In this truth for today the question is being directed toward God and specifically WHAT DOES GOD WANT FROM ME? Just prior to this question the Lord stated that He did not want a burnt offering sacrifice. In fact the real question is what could I offer to God that He does not all ready own? God does not want anything tangible that I possess. WHAT DOES GOD WANT FROM ME?

There is a sacrifice that is acceptable to God from you personally. It is the only thing that you really have to give to Him. There is one sacrifice that God will not despise from you! If you can say with truth and humility that your sacrifice is a a broken worldly spirit, a broken and contrite heart. If you can say that you are truly sorry for all of your sins, against God and man. If you are broken with sorrow for what you have done and are thoroughly penitent toward God, then you will be offering the only sacrifice that God desires.

God will be pleased with this sacrifice of righteousness. You have opened the door of your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and He will come in and dwell with you. That is all that God ever wanted from you. He said, behold I stand at the door and knock and if any man will open the door to his heart, I will come in and live with Him. The Holy Spirit will be the proof of this act and you will be born again. Born in the spirit and not in the flesh. This world has nothing to offer us in reality and only the promise of God is of any value to us eternally. So if anyone asks you, WHAT DOES GOD WANT FROM ME, the correct answer is your broken spirit and your contrite heart.
