TURN AWAY FROM EVIL!

2 TIMOTHY 2: 19

"God's truth stands firm like a foundation stone, with this inscription: The Lord knows who are His, and all who belong to the Lord must TURN AWAY FROM EVIL"

The Lord knows everything about you, down to the smallest details of your life. He knows your name and hears your every cry and prayer. The Lord knows who are His children and those that belong to Him must TURN AWAY FROM EVIL! God's truths stand like a firm foundation stone and will not be moved. Do you know the Lord? If you Love, Know and Fear the Lord He has His seal upon you. Have you turned away from evil? Have you made your path straight toward the Lord? Because you have the Holy Spirit in your heart you will TURN AWAY FROM EVIL!

If you were in an adulterous relationship before you came to Christ, you will know you are His if you have stopped committing adultery. If you were an alcoholic before you came to Christ, have you stopped getting drunk. If you had a habit of viewing pornography and R rated, sexual materials before you came to Christ, have you turned away from this evil behavior? If you had a habit of gossiping and harming people, have you stopped? The Lord knows who are His and all who belong to the Lord must TURN AWAY FROM EVIL! The truth of the Lord is etched in His foundation stone and if you truly belong to God you will listen and live His Word!

The Word of God is Truth and must be known and acted upon by all those who love Him. He knows if you are His and listen to His voice. It is simple, did you give up your wicked and evil ways when you accepted the gift of life from Jesus Christ? Have you become a new creation with a new heart, filled with the Holy Spirit? Have you give up your old habits and ways and do you flee from evil? Do you remain separated from wickedness and darkness and are you able to walk toward the Light? If you have you have listened to God and learned His Truth. Our One Truth Today for Christians is to TURN AWAY FROM EVIL!

GOD HAS MADE EVERYTHING PLAIN!

2 TIMOTHY 1: 10

"Now GOD HAS MADE EVERYTHING PLAIN to us by the appearing of Jesus Christ our Savior. Jesus abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel!"

If all we had was the "OLD TESTAMENT", and we lived before the coming of Jesus Christ, we would be at a distinct disadvantage. We would not have the whole truth or the whole "GOSPEL"! For example, Solomon, the wisest man to live in his age, thought everything was vanity. Solomon did not have the "good news" of Jesus Christ. Job knew that he would see His Redeemer, but he was unclear about it because Jesus Christ had not made everything plain by His appearing. This was before Jesus Christ abolished death and brought immortal life to those who love and believe Him. What would your life be like if you did not have the Gospel of the Lord? What if there had never been the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior? NOW GOD HAS MADE EVERYTHING PLAIN!

The Prophets of the Old Testament have had their message come true. God appearing in the flesh is not mere Words. Jesus Christ appearing in the flesh and dwelling among us is the tangible proof the promise and plan of God. We could See Him, Hear Him, Touch Him and the Lord left us His NEW TESTAMENT! We now have the whole truth. GOD HAS MADE EVERYTHING PLAIN! Because Jesus was Saved from the Cross and shed His blood for us we have the miracle of new and eternal life. This was the plan of God from the beginning and now it was evident and present. Share the Good News of the Gospel to all you can for it is life and it is for everyone who believes. GOD HAS MADE EVERYTHING PLAIN!

TRUE GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT!

1 TIMOTHY 6: 6-7

TRUE GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT is itself great wealth! After all we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can take nothing with us when we leave it."

If you want great wealth, that you can take with you to Heaven, then understand our One Truth Today. Are you content with your life? Are you content with the amount of wealth and money that you have accumulated, or do you always want more? Is your idea of a retirement plan to win the Lottery? Have you been able to meet your dreams and aspirations or are you still discontented? Does obtaining money or wealth take up the majority of your day and energy? You need to listen and then understand this scripture. TRUE GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT is in and of itself great wealth. If you want to be rich in God's kingdom then your goals will not be of and for this earth!

When you were born, you brought nothing with you into this world. When you die to this life you will take nothing with you when you go! Whatever you accumulate here, you will leave here! There is only one way to obtain and then hold onto great wealth. Lay up your treasures for heaven! TRUE GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS ITSELF GREAT WEALTH! The only thing that you will have as you leave this life is your state of mind and attitude. There is only one true gain and only one profit from this life and that is to know and love God and be content with His righteousness and Godliness. Respect and Worship Jesus Christ the Lord God and you will be content and achieve Holiness, and great personal wealth.

Worldly wealth and our economies are temporary and fleeting. God's economy is eternal and is never lost. You really own nothing in this world. The world and everything in it belongs to God! You arrived with your eternal soul and you will leave this earth with only that, and what choice you make regarding your soul will have eternal consequences. Will your soul ascend to Heaven to be with the Lord? If you believe in and accept the free gift of eternal life you will achieve TRUE GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT! If you reject God and refuse to accept His plan for your life, then you will descend into Hell and you will remain there forever, separated from God. Your relationship with God will determine your contentment here on earth and in the world to come. How are you doing? Do you Love God, are you content?

TRAINING FOR GODLINESS!

1 TIMOTHY 4: 8

"Physical training is good, but, TRAINING FOR GODLINESS is better, promising benefits in this life and the life to come."

Someday we will all lose our bodies. While we are alive, physical training is good, but, TRAINING FOR GODLINESS, is better. You will be trading your physical, earthly, body for one of the Spirit that will last forever. That is why training for Godliness is even more important and brings benefits for this life, and more importantly for the life to come! Do you work out every day and do what you can to maintain your physical body? Do you work out every day, to do what you can to TRAIN FOR GODLINESS? How much time and effort do you apply to each of these needs? If you are trying to keep your body young and beautiful, you will be in a losing cause. The same effort applied to Godliness and spiritual training lasts forever!

Physical training has value for the short time we are here on earth and is important. You are the steward of your body and your choices will have consequences. The One Truth Today is that your TRAINING FOR GODLINESS is even more important as it has eternal consequences.

Your body will decay but your spirit will live on eternally. There is a promise of the benefits for this life and the life to come in TRAINING FOR GODLINESS. Physical training is good but training for Godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and the life to come. What is your attitude and position on our scripture for today?

Think of reading and understanding the Word of God as a workout for your spirit. Think of digesting the "bread of life" as your nutrition for life. Think of attending Church and learning from the sermons as building the muscles of the mind. Learning God's laws and understanding the Prophets and the Word is how you build your spiritual body and muscles. The more of the daily bread you eat, the healthier you become. So while we are present on earth we are to take care of our bodies, including physical training, but more importantly we are to build up our spiritual bodies, because they last forever. Remember, our home is not here but in Heaven and the life to come!

LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!

PROVERBS 25: 21-22

"If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat. If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. You will heap burning coals of shame on their heads, and the Lord will reward you."

Do you have any enemies? Is anyone threatening you, or your family, your religion, or your country? The One Truth Today tells us what the Lord expects us to do to those we consider our enemies. Our flesh tells us to do something different then God. Tit for tat is the fleshly, human answer to an attack. Many want to escalate the retaliation and punish those they hate. How has that been working for us? Families, countries, religions, and individuals carry on in a never ending story of hatred, death and destruction. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. It is time for you to stop acting in the flesh and listening to the Spirit of God! LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!

In Matthew, Jesus Christ tells us to LOVE YOUR ENEMIES. We are to bless them that curse us and do good to them that hate us. We are to pray for those who despitefully use us and persecute us. In Romans the Lord tells us, "do not be overcome with evil , but overcome evil with good". Here in Proverbs we are given specific instructions on how to handle our enemies.

If your enemy is hungry, give him food. If you enemy is thirsty, give him water to drink. LOVE YOUR ENEMIES! If you have the courage and wisdom to do so, your enemy will have burning coals of shame on their head. It interrupts the cycle of hatred and violence and your enemy will have to respond in an entirely different way. The Lord will reward you, that is His promise!

The best part of taking the high road and obeying the Lord is that He will reward our behavior!

Break the cycle of hatred and test the Lord. Substitute Love and you can get a different result that will stop the insanity. Give your enemy comfort and support and show goodness and kind behavior and it will affect the way they think about you. Put God to the test and use His Word today. Take someone you think of as an enemy, someone you have a strained relationship with and apply the Proverb. Give them your love, your attention, your help. If it is a father or mother a sister or brother or anyone else, try it today. LOVE YOUR ENEMIES!

JESUS CHRIST CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS!

1 TIMOTHY 1: 15

"This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: JESUS CHRIST CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS, and I am the worst of them all."

You know that you are a sinner, correct? You can argue whether you are the worst of them all, but you are a sinner! The Word of God tells us that "ALL" of us have come short of the Glory of God and no one is good, no not one. That would include you! We do not need to compare sins with one another because the important point is that we are all sinners! In surgical terms we are all contaminated and unsterile, no one is sterile! The One Truth Today is a most trustworthy statement and saying, one we all need to accept: JESUS CHRIST CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS, and you are one of them!

Jesus Christ the Lord God came into this world to Save us all from death and give us eternal life and that includes you! Paul confesses to breaking God's laws along with all his persecution and rebelliousness. Paul had defied all that was Holy. He was ignorant and his unbelief caused him to reject the Lord. Does that sound like anyone you know personally? No matter what sin you have committed or how heinous is was, you can be forgiven by Jesus Christ, your Savior, and you can receive Mercy and Grace. JESUS CHRIST CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS, to save you!

If Paul was the foremost of sinners, he was still forgiven and received the Mercy and Grace of the Lord. This displays the long suffering and eternal patience of the Lord, and His love for all of His children. The greatest sinner can still receive the Mercy and Grace of the Lord. That is encouraging to all of us. It demonstrates that whatever sin you may have committed, if you will confess it to the Lord and ask for His Mercy you will receive it! Now that is some "Good News". Our One Truth Today is a trustworthy saying and everyone should accept it. JESUS CHRIST CAME INTO THE WORLD TO SAVE SINNERS! Yes, even the worst of them all!

A PURE HEART, A CLEAR CONSCIENCE, A GENUINE FAITH!

1 TIMOTHY 1: 5

"All believer's should be filled with love that comes from A PURE HEART, A CLEAR CONSCIENCE, A GENUINE FAITH!"

The great commission of the Lord is to Love One Another! That is the purpose of the Word of God, to teach us and instruct us in the Love of God. When we accept Jesus Christ the Lord God as our Savior we get a new heart and a new life. We become a new creation. Our One Truth Today is that all believer's should be filled with love that comes from A PURE HEART, A CLEAR CONSCIENCE, A GENUINE FAITH. Our hearts are now filled with the Holy Spirit instead of our carnal sinful nature. We no longer have to have a guilty conscience because the blood of Jesus Christ has washed us clean. We have A CLEAR CONSCIENCE. We no longer follow false gods or unrighteous systems of morality. We have Jesus with a GENUINE FAITH!

We will never achieve perfection until we join the Lord in Heaven, but we are advised to avoid anything that will keep us from a life of faith. We are to avoid sins or confess them if they occur so that we can have a clear conscience. We are to fill our lives and our hearts with love that can only come from a pure heart. We are not to be influenced by those that teach anything contrary to the Word of God, and His Truth. We need to avoid endless discussions about myths or spiritual pedigree's , including genealogies and fables. Vain arguments and discussions are with out purpose and if you are not talking to some one filled with the Love of God, walk away!

If you wonder what God expects from you, this scripture is His instruction. Ask yourself if you are living up to His expectations. We all know that we are not without sin, but we are forgiven

and know that we need to be faithful to confess our sins and ask for forgiveness. We will be known by our fruit including whether we are filled with Love that comes from A PURE HEART,

A CLEAR CONSCIENCE, AND GENUINE FAITH! You have been Saved, filled with the Holy Spirit and instructed by the Word of God as to what the Lord desires of you. Now the rest is up to you and your choices. Be filled with Love, be filled with God!
