ONCE ENLIGHTENED!

HEBREWS 6: 4

"It is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were ONCE ENLIGHTENED those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the Word of God and the power of the age to come, and who turn away from God!"

Did you turn to the Lord for Salvation? Did you believe in God? Did the Lord forgive you of your sins? Did you believe that your Salvation was eternal? Did you understand that once you had tasted how sweet the Lord Jesus Christ is, there would be no other place you could go on earth or in heaven for a comparison or life? If you did then you were ONCE ENLIGHTENED! Our One Truth Today has a strong and powerful message for believer's in this scripture. If you turn away from God after being once enlightened it will be impossible to bring you back to repentance. This is the sin of blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, and it is unforgivable. You have chosen to separate yourself from Jesus Christ the Lord God!

This scripture tells us what will happen if you fall away and turn away from God and deviate from you faith in Him. If you reject God and cast Him from your heart, and blaspheme the Holy Spirit it will be impossible to bring you back to repentance. If that does not bring fear to your heart, then you may not have ever been saved! This is not to be confused with sinning in that we all sin, but the Lord is faithful to forgive us if we confess them to Him. This is that one that was ONCE ENLIGHTENED, and had experienced the good things of the Lord and Heaven and shared his heart with the Holy Spirit. This is the one who had tasted the goodness and how sweet the Lord is and understood the power of the Word of God, here on earth and in the kingdom to come. Knowing all this they turned away from God. They cast the Holy Spirit out!

If you turn away from God you are nailing Jesus Christ on the Cross again. You are holding Jesus Christ in contempt and shame and public disgrace. You have failed in your duty to hold onto your faith until the very end of your life here on earth. You have made a choice with a consequence that will sentence you to eternal damnation and death. It would have been better for you if you had never been enlightened, for you have turned your back on the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ and you have turned away form God. There will now be no possibility of bringing you back to repentance and Salvation. The Lord remains perfectly Just. He Saved you and gave you new and eternal life and you made a choice to turn away from Him. You rejected your Saviour and in doing so condemned yourself forever. This message if for all believer's, do not turn away from God and hold out to the very end. Keep you faith, ONCE ENLIGHTENED!

WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF YOU?

DEUTERONOMY 10: 12

"WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF YOU? He requires only that you Fear the Lord your God, and live in a way that pleases Him, that you love and serve Him with all your heart and soul, and that you always obey the Lord's commandments and decrees."

I can hear someone saying right now, is that all? If we had to do this on our own, without the help of the Holy Spirit and the Lord, it would be impossible. If you have not opened the door to your heart and invited the Lord to come in and dwell with you, it will never happen. Have you accepted the free gift of Salvation from the Lord Jesus Christ? Have you repented of your sins and received the Mercy and Grace of God? Have you been "born again" as a new creation in Christ Jesus, with a new heart and a new life? If you can answer yes, then you can ask the next logical question, WHAT DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF YOU?

In the time you have left here on earth, what is it that Jesus expects from you? Our One Truth Today has the answer for you. Remember the beginning of wisdom is the fear of God and the Lord wants you to have a reverential fear and knowledge of Him. This is the first requirement to pleasing God. The Lord expects us to live in a way that pleases Him. Remember that you can not mock God and He knows everything about you. Is your path directed toward righteousness? Do you love and serve the Lord with your whole heart, mind, body and soul?

Because of your Salvation and new life, do you always obey the Lord's Commandments and decrees?

Because we love the Lord and His Word, we must become doers of the Word and not just hearer's. God's instruction is given for our own good, here on earth, and for eternity in heaven.

If we fail to keep His commandments and decree's we will suffer here on earth and not obtain the peace that passes understanding. If we never accept the Lord into our heart and believe in Him we will be separated forever from God. If you have an ear, listen and hear the Word of the Lord. Now that you are a believer, put into action all of the Word of God. This is how you can prove to God and yourself that you are His Child. If you Know, Love and Fear God then you know WHAT THE LORD REQUIRES OF YOU!

ENTER HIS REST!

HEBREWS 3: 19

"So you see that because of their unbelief they were not able to ENTER HIS REST!"

Why do so many grave stones have the inscription, "REST IN PEACE"? It is true that we all want to find a place of peace and rest, that is why as believer's we look forward to entering Heaven. Do you long for an end to the turmoil and constant struggle of this life on earth? Our One Truth Today has a warning to the unbeliever's. You will never "REST IN PEACE". Because of your unbelief you will not be able to ENTER HIS REST! Those who do not have the Lord in their life seek peace, peace, but there is no peace! That is true here on the earth and especially in the time to come. With believer's death is the beginning of new eternal life and the ability to ENTER HIS REST! For those who have hardened their heart and rejected the Lord there is separation forever and they will never ENTER HIS REST!

In this scripture Paul's advice to everyone is to be careful that your own heart is not evil and unbelieving. If it is, this will cause you to turn from the living God, then you will become separated for eternity. Do not be deceived by sin, which can harden your heart and keep you from the Truth. Believer's who remain faithful to the end, trusting God as firmly as when they first came to Him, will share all that belongs to the Lord. The peace that passes understanding is available to them here on earth and they will certainly ENTER HIS REST, when they pass on!

Do you want peace right now here on earth? Do you want the peace that passes understanding?

When you leave this world do you want to ENTER HIS REST? Listen to the Word of God and believe His message for you and the One Truth Today. Accept the "Good News" about Salvation and open the door to your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. You have a choice to believe or not believe. You have a choice to accept or reject the Word of God. You alone will suffer the consequences of your choice. If you refuse to believe, you must know and see that because of your unbelief you will not be able to ENTER HIS REST!

ALIVE AND POWERFUL!

HEBREWS 4: 12

"For the Word of God is ALIVE AND POWERFUL. It is sharper then the sharpest two edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow.

Agnostics and atheists proclaim that God is dead. They may even believe that there is no God.

Believer's know that God is alive and our One Truth Today goes even further. The Word of God is ALIVE AND POWERFUL! The Bible, which is the Word of God, is sharper then the sharpest two edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow and it expresses our innermost thoughts and desires. It is true that God speaks to us in many ways, even the heavens declare the Glory of God. The Bible guides us through our lives and teaches us the lessons of the Lord. The Word of God is ALIVE AND POWERFUL! It has an activating and energizing effect on our everyday lives. It answers questions about what the plan of God is for our lives and gives us peace and contentment when we know the Lord's will. It contains the endless knowledge and depth of our God!

If something is dead it no longer has any value and is buried or discarded. The Word of God is the most printed book in the history of mankind, even unto this day. It is the most reliable history of man that we have. It is trustworthy and True and has been proven correct every time, over and over, throughout the ages. It has the answer to any question a man could have.

Just Like Jesus Christ rose from the dead and is alive, the Word of God is ALIVE AND POWERFUL! Only fools say in their heart there is no God. What about you, do believe that God is alive and do you believe that the Word of God is ALIVE AND POWERFUL?

Agnostics and atheists are fools and do not have even the beginning of wisdom, which is the fear of God. So it is clear that the only ones who are dead men walking around today and who will die eternally are the ones who do not believe that God exists and His Word is Alive. They deny God and God denies He ever knew them. They condemn themselves with a choice to reject the Lord. They refuse to accept the Truth, and instead believe a lie. The only way to obtain life and that eternal is to have the Lord in your heart and believe that his Word is ALIVE AND POWERFUL!

BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY!

TITUS 3: 5

"God saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but, BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY. He washed away our sins, giving us new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit!"

It is human nature to take credit for the good things that happen in our lives. Many times we take the credit even when we know we are not responsible for the outcome. Most people would like to think that they control their lives and their destiny. The One Truth Today tells us that we lack not only the power to Save ourselves, but, it is not any righteous thing that we have done that God gave us new birth and life. God Saved us BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY! Surely you do not believe that you can save yourself from this world of flesh and sin and give yourself new and eternal life. We have all sinned and come short of the Glory of God and deserve to die, but, the Lord and the Holy Spirit have given us new and eternal life.

When our loving God appeared as a man, Jesus Christ, the plan for our Salvation was completed. We are saved by God and the atonement of Jesus Christ on the Cross. He died for us and all of our sins. There is nothing that we could have done to save ourselves. All that is required is for you to open the door to your heart and choose to have the Lord come in and dwell with you. The Holy Spirit gives us new life after being born again and washes away all of our sins. Nothing we did that was righteous could save us, it was only BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY! It is not by works that anyone can be saved, least any man could boast. All the Glory belongs to Jesus Christ the Lord God!

It is not because of how we lived that we are saved. No one deserves the free gift of eternal life. Each of us must make a choice to accept the Lord and His free gift of eternal life or they can reject the Lord and be separated for eternity. There is nothing that we can do that is righteous enough to save ourselves. Thank God for His plan and His mercy that washes away all of our sins, and for the new birth and the new life through the Holy Spirit. When you ponder how it is that you have been given the gift of eternal life with the Lord in Heaven, it is BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY!

THIS EVIL WORLD!

TITUS 2: 12

"We are instructed to turn from Godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in THIS EVIL WORLD with wisdom, righteousness and devotion to God!"

Is there any question in your mind that the world we live in is evil? The evidence of evil abounds and surrounds us and in some cases overwhelms us. The One Truth Today gives us instruction about what God expects us to do. Turn from Godless living and sinful pleasures. Flee from the devil and he will part from you. Seek wisdom and righteousness. The beginning of wisdom is the fear and knowledge of God. If you want wisdom make GOD first in your life. Righteousness will come as you become more like Jesus and come closer to God. It will be in direct proportion to your devotion to God. Turn from the lusts and evil of this world and focus instead on the life to come! Learn self control and devotion to God and His Word! Never forget that you live in THIS EVIL WORLD!

When the Grace of God came into your life and you were Saved from your sin, you received the Lord's unmerited favor and His blessings on your life. Not just this life in THIS EVIL WORLD, but in the eternal life to come. You were Saved and delivered from your sins. You have the Holy Spirit to help you reject and renounce the evil of this world. Grace allows us to live discrete lives of self control and spiritual morality. We are no longer of this world and that is why we remain upright and devoted to the Lord who Saved us. The Word of God is our instruction and manual for life. We know the Truth and the Truth will set us free!

All of us are waiting anxiously for the return of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is our Messiah, the Anointed One and He is with us all the time in Spirit. We will be with him in our new body with our saved soul forever. This life here on earth is fleeting and only an instant in the eternal perspective. We are advised not to become to attached to this world, keep you eyes on heaven. No one should be attached to this sinful world and its lustful pleasures if they have the Lord in their heart. You are a new creature with a new perspective. Devote your life to God and turn from your prior Godless living and sinful ways. You have been Saved from this

EVIL WORLD!

ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD!

2 TIMOTHY 3: 16

ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and it teaches us to do what is right."

True believer's and followers of Jesus Christ, know that every word and ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD! The authors may have held the pen, but God breathed the Truth into each one and they became His instruments. The coherent message of the Bible, written over hundreds of years by dozens of authors, can only be explained by our One Truth Today. ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD! That is why all scripture is profitable for instruction, reproof and conviction of sin. God gave us His Word so that He could teach us right from wrong, and what is true from what is false. That is how he corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us what to do that is right. The Bible is the manual for our lives. This applies to all scripture!

Without the scriptures how could any believer be complete or proficient in doing God's work here on earth? All believer's have found inspiration and life changing correction from reading and learning the Word of God. Some only read the read letter portions of the scripture, some prefer the Old Testament to the New Testament, some just choose their favorite scriptures but the Lord has a message for you. ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD! You can find life changing inspiration and correction for your lives in every verse in the Bible. You can open the Word at any location and receive One Truth Today. You should not pick and choose, instead learn the entire message of God. If you abandon a part of God's message then you do so at your own loss and peril. ALL SCRIPTURE, means all of the Word of God, the entire Bible!

Do you read the Bible on a regular basis? Have you read from Genesis to Revelation? Do you try to do this once a year as a way of getting your Daily Bread? God wants you to have the Word in your heart and mind at all times. He wants you to be able to share the Truth with others. He wants you to teach your children, right from wrong, and what is false from what is true. It takes more than a cursory look at the Word to become inspired. When you can teach others, then you will have a sufficient knowledge of the Word. People want to know what is wrong in their lives and they yearn for the Truth. Correction from God, comes from His Word and that is His entire Word. ALL SCRIPTURE IS INSPIRED BY GOD!
