FREEDOM!

2 CORINTHIANS 3: 17

"For the Lord is Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM!"

Any rational person living in America knows that since the 10 Commandments of the Lord have been removed from public buildings and schools around America, there have been some drastic changes.  America has a significant segment that is anti-Christ and anti-God, and they are doing everything they can to have God eliminated from society.  You could say that they are trying to eliminate the Spirit of the Lord from America and of course there will be consequences.  The One Truth Today tells  us what will happen.  If the spirit of the Lord is removed, at the same time our FREEDOM will be removed.  If we turn our back on God and disrespect Him then He will turn from us as a country and remove His Spirit, which is our FREEDOM!  If we want freedom back again in this country, in full measure, then we will have to repent and turn to the Lord for His blessing!

Individually what do we need to have FREEDOM?  We need the Spirit of the Lord in full measure.  We need to open the door to our hearts and invite Jesus Christ to come in and live with us and fill us with His Holy Spirit.  Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom!  Even a slave can have freedom in the Spirit by having the Lord in their heart.  Anyone who has been imprisoned or unlawfully detained needs to hear this scripture.  Anyone who has been enslaved or indentured needs to pay attention.  If you are feeling the weight of discrimination, bias or hatred, listen to this.  You can be liberated right now by the Lord!  You can be emancipated and your bondage can end right now.  If you have the Spirit of the Lord you can have FREEDOM, and that eternally. 

All things are spiritual and that is the way we are to worship.  Your freedom can occur in your heart and mind if you belong to Jesus Christ.  The present location or experience of your body, not withstanding, you are just passing through this life and your home is in heaven with God! You will freed from death and bondage because of the Salvation of the Lord and the indwelling of His Holy Spirit.  You have eternal life and eternal FREEDOM!  We are all born as slaves to this world and there is only one way to be freed from your bondage!  Invite the Holy Spirit and Jesus Christ to Save you now and set you free.  Freedom at last, thank God all mighty, we are free at Last!  

RICHES - HONOR - LONG LIFE!

PROVERBS 22: 4

"True humility and the fear of the Lord lead to RICHES, HONOR AND LONG LIFE!"

RICHES, HONOR, LONG LIFE, does that sound pretty good to you?  Our One Truth Today has the formula you need to use to achieve that goal.  While you are here on earth, what is it that you would like to achieve?  It seems elemental that as pilgrims passing through this world we would prefer to have riches.  Remember the old saying, "I have been rich and I have been poor, and rich is better"?  As believer's in the Word of God we do not want to be gaudy or ostentatious but to have enough wealth to live a good life and give to others.  True riches are knowing and serving God, keeping in mind that everything we have is from Him.  We also remember that we can take nothing with us when we leave this earth.  That is why the more the Lord blesses us the more we are to bless others.  Riches when used for God's purposes are not evil.  Do you love and fear the Lord God?  Are you humble by nature, truly humble?

Have you received honor from your family, friends, co-workers and neighbors?  Have you done enough in your chosen profession that your peers have honored you?  Do others look to you for sound advice and good counsel?  We can not become proud if this has occurred, we must remain truly humble when others honor us.  No one can replace God and His wisdom, but as His child we can pass on His truths to those we care about.  If we fear the Lord and have found a place for humility in our lives, God will lead  us to RICHES, HONOR AND LONG LIFE!

Many wonder why some lives are so short and end so soon in our timing.  Even when we keep in mind that they are at home with the Lord and in a better place then we are, we pray and ask God for a long Godly life.  White hair is a sign of blessing from the Lord.  It shows that we have had an opportunity to grow in the Lord and then to bless others with His Truth.  We have so many memories and experiences that can be used to help others find and stay on the right path! As we grow older we can offer Godly counsel and direction to our family and friends.  Long life gives us more opportunity to bring others to a saving grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.  We have hopefully learned how wisdom has its beginning in the Fear of God and knowing His power leads to our true humility.  If you want RICHES, HONOR AND LONG LIFE, FEAR THE LORD AND HAVE TRUE HUMILITY!

THAT PERSON IS CURSED!

1 CORINTHIANS 16:  22

"If anyone does not love the Lord, THAT PERSON IS CURSED.  Come Lord Jesus!"

If you think the movie, THE CURSE OF THE MUMMY, was scary and made you afraid, then you had better pay attention to the One Truth Today.  The movies are fiction and can not really harm you, but our scripture today is to warn you of true impending danger to your life!  People who do not know and love Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour have a curse upon them.  The terrible thing about the curse is they are unaware of it.  Remember when the mummy was about to take the heroine and her death was about to occur, did you scream in terror? Although there were no consequences, because just like you father told you, "its only a movie", in real life there are real and terrifying results.   If they only knew that they would be separated from the Lord and spend eternity in Hell they would scream in terror!  Their unbelief is really a blaspheme against God.  They in essence are cursing God.  The difference is that only God can cause a real consequence, and only God could save them!

If you do not love the Lord you place yourself under the curse.  Our own actions or inaction can bring us to an evil result and eternal death.  We impose the curse voluntarily and only we are responsible for the consequence of rejecting the Lord.  If you have no affection for God and are not on a friendly basis with Him, if you are not disposed to know and love Him, THAT PERSON IS CURSED!  You have chosen to separate yourself from God and He will separate you, from Himself.  This anathema shows a destitution of Love for Jesus Christ and it will doom you to perdition.  In short you are cursed and separated and doomed forever!

Maranatha is a prayer that literally means, Come Now Lord Jesus.  Our Lord Come is the prayer of any believer who yearns for the heavenly kingdom and being in the presence of the Lord.  At that time the real meaning of the curse will be revealed to unbelievers'.  They have imposed on themselves a penalty that they can never repay.  Choices and actions on this earth have consequences and the result of cursing God is that you will be cursed.  Your final judgement will be just and fair and a result of your own choices and actions.  If you do not come to a Saving Grace and accept the Lord as your Saviour, you will die, THAT PERSON IS CURSED!  Although the Lord does not want any to perish and as believer's we want all those we love to be saved, we still have the same prayer every day; Maranatha, Come Now Lord!    

GOOD ADVICE!

1 CORINTHIANS 16: 13-14

"Be on guard.  Stand firm in the faith.  Be courageous.  Be strong.  Do everything with love."

If you have been a Christian for a long time, you may be wondering what the Lord expects of you. You have been set apart from the world and you are a child of God.  What is it that others will see and notice about believers' that distinguishes them?   What are the attributes and traits of some one who loves God and lives according to His Word?  The One Truth Today attempts to define for us some of the ways Christians act and react to this world.  BE ON GUARD, for we are not of this world even though we are temporarily in it.  We are surrounded by evil and wickedness and we can not become a part of it.  STAND IN THE FAITH, by continually reading and learning what the Word of God is telling us.  The bible is the owners manual for our body and life and we must learn to use it.  BE COURAGEOUS,  after all what do we have to fear if God is our protector and what can anyone do to us or our body, now that we have been reborn? We should have nothing to fear except God!  BE STRONG, remembering that we are yoked to the Lord and it is His strength that will carry us through.  It is not by our strength or by our power but by the spirit of the Lord that we persevere.  All this is incomplete without the final step in the Lord's advice for us.  

The most important thing to remember is to DO EVERYTHING WITH LOVE.   God's love never changes and never ends.  We are to be like Him and therefore our love must be constant and never end .  In everything that we say and do our goal is to exhibit and exude love.  Just like God's love, our love should never change.  We need to continually seek the Lord first in everything that we do.  When others examine us and our lives, they need to see the Love of God in everything that we do.  

We need to act and look like men and women of God.  Our strength and faith should be growing and increasing until the end.  We need to be strong in our commitment to the Lord.  We need to be courageous in our interactions with the world.  We need to stand firm on our faith and belief in the Word of God.  We need to be on guard for the enemy is prowling around to and fro seeking whom he can devour.  We need to always. remember that it is by God's power and strength that we can overcome.  God is love and and we are to be inspired by Him.  This should translate into the inspiration to be like Him.  We need to learn from our Heavenly Father and emulate Him.  How can we do this?  DO EVERYTHING WITH LOVE. That is  GOOD ADVICE!

WEALTH DISAPPEARS!

PROVERBS 23: 4-5

"Do not wear yourself out trying to be rich.  Be wise enough to know when to quit.  In the blink of an eye WEALTH DISAPPEARS,  for it will sprout wings and fly away, like an eagle."

Is it you desire to be rich?  How much wealth and money would be enough for you?  What price are you willing to pay to accumulate wealth and riches?  It is not uncommon for rich people to have to sacrifice something in return for their wealth.  They may sacrifice their health, or their family, or their social or sexual lives.  It can definitely affect their spiritual life, in that they may have to act in a way that is immoral or unpleasing to God.  The Word tells us that to gain the entire world and lose our eternal soul is taking the wrong path, that leads to separation from God and eternal death.  So at what price are you willing to wear yourself out trying to be rich?Are you wise enough to know when to quit trying to accumulate wealth and yearn for God?

Once you are rich. what are you willing to do to keep it?  Are you going to be jealous and covetous of others and in essence greedy?  The One Truth Today also warns us that wealth like fame is fleeting.  Your wealth can disappear in the twinkling of an eye.  Ask all those who lost their 401 k savings recently.  Ask those who lost their jobs and their homes and wealth in this past recession.  We spend such a short time here on earth and we can spend it trying to accumulate wealth that we never really own or storing up treasures for heaven.  Remember we came into this life with nothing and we will leave it with nothing.  All you have accumulated will be going to others.  So what is the relevance of becoming rich?  WEALTH DISAPPEARS!

God is trying to warn us not to wear ourselves out trying to become rich.  Most particularly God is cautioning us to know when to quit accumulating wealth at the expense of our lives and at God's expense.  The Lord will supply all or our needs and all that we have really belongs to Him in the first place.  Like God, giving is better than receiving in our own lives and we need to avoid being greedy and covetous.  Everyone knows the story of a rich family that lost everything, like Job.   What was the conclusion of Job?  "The Lord gives, and the Lord takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord"!  How about you, when it comes to getting rich, do you KNOW WHEN TO QUIT!

BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER!

1 CORINTHIANS 15: 33

"BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER.   Think carefully about what is right and stop sinning.  For to  your shame I say that some of you do not know God at all."

Did your parents tell you not to hang around with someone they were concerned about?  A parents perception is much better than a young teenager.  If you go back and remember, they are almost always right.  Who do you hang around with now?  Who have you chosen as your companions and friends?  Are they of good strong moral character and do they have good manners and most importantly, do they love Jesus Christ the Lord God?  Birds of a feather flock together they say.  The One Truth Today is very simple and anyone should be able to grasp its meaning.  Do not be misled or deceived, if your companions and associates are evil and corrupt, their depravity will affect and influence you!  You will be known by your company and if you know God you know, BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER!

If your friends are sinning all of the time, that alone will influence you and lead you into sin. Those that become drunk or use drugs will have an affect on you after a time.  Those who have no manners and curse as a part of their vocabulary will become normal instead of immoral.  We tend to emulate our friends behavior and that is why it is so important to avoid Bad Company! Look for friends with good moral character and behavior and then emulate them!  You will not find them in a bar or a pornographic theatre.  That is why we are not to neglect the gathering together of the brethren and why we go to church.  Good Company builds Good Character!

Some of you do not know God at all!  That is a strong statement but unfortunately the truth. Wake up from your stupor and come to your senses!  Get a right mind, one that seeks God first and His Word.  Pray for righteousness and stop sinning.  Ask the Lord for forgiveness of your sins and repent.  The Lord will forgive you and give you proper direction in your life, if you ask Him.  Your conscience will speak to you and if you listen you will learn that BAD COMPANY CORRUPTS GOOD CHARACTER.  You make the choices one at a time and your decisions will lead to consequences.  Good choices lead to good results.  Bad choices lead to bad results and you are in control.  Think carefully about what is right and stop sinning!  Know, love and Fear God!

WHAT WAS MOST IMPORTANT!

1 CORINTHIANS 15: 3-4

"I passed on to you WHAT WAS MOST IMPORTANT, and also what had been passed on to me.  Christ died for our sins!  Christ was buried.  Christ was raised from the dead on the third day,  just as the scriptures said!"

WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT thing that man has ever heard?  What is it that has saved us all from death?  What is the "Gospel"?  What are the glad tidings of good joy?  Have you heard that most important message?  If you have been saved and are now a believer in Jesus Christ, the Lord God, then you have heard the most important message of all time.  Now we must hold on to the message until the very end.  Your faith rests on the One Truth Today, that Jesus Christ died for our sins, that He was buried  and rose again, alive, on the third day.  If you believe the above and have confessed it with your mouth and believed it in your heart you will be Saved.  You have had passed on to you the gospel, the good news, WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT message of all time!

Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One of God, died for our sins, just as the scriptures had foretold.  We have a Saviour who forgives our sins because He has taken on all of our sins.  He shed His blood on the cross for us.  He died for us.  He has risen from the grave and overcome death and He is alive!  He has conquered death so that He could give us new life.  Now there is no sting in death and no victory in a grave.  Jesus Christ was seen by His apostles and over 500 believer's with His new resurrected body.  There is irrefutable evidence that this is the truth and that Jesus Christ is the Truth.  Others have passed on this gospel and now we must also pass on to others, WHAT WAS MOST IMPORTANT!

Death came into the world through one man, Adam.  Resurrection and life have been made available, to all who believe, by one man Jesus Christ.   If you remain a man like Adam then you will die and not be reborn.  If you belong to Jesus Christ you will be born again and have a new life and a new body that will live on eternally.  Christ was the first to rise from the dead and now we can be saved from death and gain new life as His believer!  The Lord is coming back to take all of His children home to be in heaven with Him always.  Praise God that you have come to a Saving Grace by the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It was a matter or eternal life or eternal death. Pass the message on and tell others WHAT WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT, thing you heard!
