COLOSSIANS 3:23
"Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than people."
Who do you think you work for? Like most people, do you think that the person you work for is your boss? Many smart business people tell their workers that the customer is their real boss. After all the customer pays for their services and in the end that is were the paycheck comes from. How should we react when your "boss" or the "customer" you work for is a real pain and causes you nothing but trouble. Should we go postal? What should we think in this circumstance?
No matter what you do for a living. No matter what your tasks are at work, do it heartily and with all you heart and soul. Do your work as though it was for the Lord, and not for any man. You should know that it is from the Lord and not any man that you will receive your inheritance. Receiving the free gift of eternal life is your real reward. We receive our true compensation in heaven. Anything we receive on earth is temporary and fleeting.
You really serve the Lord Jesus Christ in everything that you do and He is the Master that you should want to please. You do not have to fear any earthly boss or position you may have for in the end they have no power over your future. The beginning of wisdom is the fear of God and He is the one to have reverence and respect for. So when you are asked by others, who is your boss, the correct answer is that you work for the Lord and not any person. WHO IS YOUR BOSS?

LOOK IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION
COLOSSIANS 3:2-3
"Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God."
What is more important to you, this life on earth or your eternal life in the kingdom of heaven? As a christian, where will you spend eternity? Are you looking up and with anticipation awaiting your redemption? One way to determine your attitude is how much time you spend trying to accumulate worldly possessions and build up treasures here on earth. Remember, you came into this life with nothing and you will leave it with nothing. Everything you possess will go to others, you can not keep anything. The good news is we will share in all God's glory in heaven!
Your affections should be set on the things above and the kingdom of Heaven. You are just passing through this earth and you need to keep your mind on higher things. As far as the world is concerned, you are dead in your sins and your only life is a spiritual one hidden with Christ in God.
Whenever tragic things happen here on earth, someone asks why would a good God allow bad things to happen. Why do babies die, airplanes crash, earthquakes happen, or any or your personal tragedies. The right answer is that many do not have their sights set in the right direction. Look vertically and not horizontally. Do not focus on this earth or anything in it. Look up, for your real and eternal life is in heaven and is hidden in Christ with God. You will be saved and you will spend eternity in Heaven, and in perfection. No illness, death, or crying will occur.

ARE YOU DEAD OR ALIVE?
COLOSSIANS 2:13
"You were DEAD because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you ALIVE with Christ, for He forgave all your sins."
There is a popular movie called DEAD MAN WALKING. The main theme is that sometimes men are all ready dead and they do not even know it. You could say, death is imminent and inevitable, it is just a matter of time until their demise and they are oblivious to that fact. We remain dead spiritually as long as we remain in our sinful nature. We can only be made alive by accepting Jesus Christ and His gift of life. This is what it means to be born again, this time in the spirit instead of the flesh. The flesh which is subject to death means you are dead in your sins.
Are you a dead man walking right now? You may be alive physically at this moment, but your end is in sight and inevitable. Death happens to us all. Are you aware that you also have a spiritual nature that will go on eternally? If you continue in your sin then you are subject to not just this earthly death, but the second and eternal death that is chosen by non believers in Christ. If you are not made alive with Christ and have your sins forgiven you will remain dead in your sins forever.
There is only one hope to avoid death and remain alive. There is only one saviour for every person and that is Jesus Christ. Jesus will cut away your sinful nature and give you a new spiritual and eternal life. You have to accept this free gift of life in order to end your carnal nature. All your sins will be forgiven. Choose to accept Jesus Christ. Choose to accept life.

WHAT YOU SHOULD THINK ABOUT!
PHILIPPIANS 4:8
"Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise."
Your mind can hold only one thought at at time. You control what thought is in your mind at any given time. Because these statements are true, you are responsible for what you are thinking. You can dwell on or fix your mind on what you choose. You have free will and are responsible for those choices. You determine what you think about, is it excellent and worthy of praise?
We all know someone who accepts what is false, and dishonorable, and wrong on a regular basis. We all know someone who thinks impure thoughts about ugly and undesirable things. Do you know someone who looks for the negative side of everything? They can tell you what is wrong with everyone and everything, but they have difficulty telling you how things can be right! Paul has an admonition for them and their thoughts!
Fix your thoughts on truth, not lies. Search for what is right and admirable and avoid what is false and wrong and dishonorable. Look for and think about what is lovely and praiseworthy and do not let yourself get caught up in the ugly side of man's nature. No time for pornography or things that are not reverential. Spend time with friends that are virtuous and uplifting. Keep your mind fixed on the things of God. That is WHAT WE SHOULD THINK ABOUT!

NO ONE IS GOOD, NO ONE IS WITHOUT SIN!
JEREMIAH 2:35
"You say, I have done nothing wrong. Surely God is not angry with me. God says, now I will punish you severely because you claim you have not sinned."
When Jesus said to the crowd, about to stone the adulterous woman, "let him who has no sin cast the first stone". Who cast a stone? If you had been in the crowd, could you have cast the first stone? Do you think because you are a good person, that you have not sinned in God's sight? You had better be careful not to claim you have done nothing wrong and you have never and do never sin, because God will be angry and severely punish you!
The Bible says in Psalms 14 and 53 that "no one is good, no not one". The Lord said in Matthew, Mark and Luke that, "no one is good but one, and that is God". In Romans 3:23 we learn that, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". You are included in the term, all, and the statement applies to you. The only way it would not apply is if your were God. If you believe you are God, you have a bigger and more urgent problem!
We are all sinners and we all need a saviour. You can not save yourself. If you claim that you have not sinned or done anything wrong in God's sight you are only kidding yourself and God will punish you severely for your arrogance. As with all sins, you can repent and confess them to God right now. He will forgive you and His grace will cover your sin. He will tell you to go, and sin no more. That is the good news of Jesus Christ and the truth for today!

WHEN DID GOD FIRST KNOW YOU?
JEREMIAH 1:5
"I knew you BEFORE I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born, I set you apart."
Did you ever think that no one really knows you? Have you ever felt isolated and apart from your family and friends? Who is it that really understands you and knows what you believe and think? So many people just come and go in our lives. How many Friends have you had that are now just a memory? Is there anything in your life you can count on that is always stable?
God said in Jeremiah that He knew us before we became a physical reality in our mother's womb. The conclusion is that God knew us before the moment of our physical conception. God has known us all along and He will forever! Our spiritual component was known before our physical earthly flesh was conceived. God sees us as separate and unique individual beings. So much for the pro-abortionists who insist that they are only removing a blob of tissue with no spiritual or life component. God knows the truth. Abortionists terminate a life, a spirit a human being. What do you think God's reaction will be to the abortionists?
As with any sin, if you have been connected in any way with an abortion, REPENT AND CONFESS YOUR SIN AGAINST GOD NOW! He will have mercy on you and forgive your sin, and He will save your life. If you do not confess and repent of your sin there are consequences. God knows you from the beginning and He will know you until the end. Praise the Lord.
