What would have happened to us all if Jesus Christ had not come to the earth? God's gift to mankind was His only begotten Son, sent to save us all from sin, by the shedding of His blood on the Cross. There would be no Salvation for mankind! What would have happened if there was no record of His birth, life, death and Resurrection? What if we did not have the Word of God? Our One Truth Today is that Jesus gave gifts to all mankind: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors teachers as told in His Word! The Prophets foretold the coming of our Savior Jesus Christ. The Apostles went into all the world with the task to tell about the Good News of Jesus Christ and His Salvation. The Evangelists are on fire to bring the lost to the Lord. The Pastors and teachers help us to get our daily bread of life from the Word of God! These are THE GIFTS OF CHRIST!
What would we be like if we had no Shepherd. We would be lost sheep. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving, God the Father gave us eternal life if we believe in His Son. What a wonderful variety there are in THE GIFTS OF CHRIST. The Prophets are His special messengers, that tell us the plan of God made from the beginning. The apostles have inspired the whole world and taken the message of Salvation to all people. Evangelists that are touched by God have inspired and saved the lost and lead them to Jesus Christ the Lord God to be Saved. The pastors and teachers have become the shepherds of the Lords sheep. The help to lead us to greener pastures and still waters if we but listen. We need to be thankful for all THE GIFTS OF CHRIST!
In case anyone asks, what has Jesus done for me lately, stop and consider this scripture. Jesus Christ the Lord God has given us a legacy of gifts that continue until this very moment. The Gifts never stop and remain in abundance. These gifts will last until the Lord returns to take us with him to Heaven. Then we receive the final gift of eternal life in perfection. His final gift to all of us is to be with Him forever. We are His children and the building blocks of His Church.
