"I praise God for what He has promised. I trust in God, so WHY SHOULD I BE AFRAID? What can mere mortals do to me?"
What are you afraid of? What scares you and makes you upset? Many people are so afraid to die that they fail to live! Are you afraid to fly, or drive on the freeway, or go into certain parts of town, etc.. Are you afraid, that in your own home, you could be robbed or killed. Our One Truth Today will be a true test of your faith and belief in Jesus Christ, the Lord God. If you are assured of your Salvation and you are a child of God, what can mere mortals do to you? God has promised you that He will Save you and give you eternal life in Heaven. No mortal can do anything permanent to you. If you know and believe this in your heart then like other believer's you can say, WHY SHOULD I BE AFRAID?
The "Good News", known to believer's, is that this is not our permanent home, we are just passing through. This is not our final destination and our life on earth is like a puff of smoke or a flower or a blade of grass, here today and gone tomorrow! We are sure of our destination and eternal life. If you do not have that assurance and peace of mind and body then maybe you should be afraid. If you need the Salvation of God there is a reason that you are afraid and that feeling in the pit of your stomach is a warning of the consequences of not accepting the Lord and His free gift of life. You have not been delivered from death and that should give rise to a great deal of fear! The beginning of wisdom is the Fear of God!
If you are afraid all the time and about everything, is your life, worth living? Are you really sure of your final destination? God's promises are True and should be praised by those that Love Him. If you Trust in God then you have no reason to fear anything at any time. Your soul is safe with your Father in Heaven. When you come to know and understand the Word of God in your heart and believe without reservation His Promises, then you can join the other believer's who say boldly, WHY SHOULD I BE AFRAID! If you are afraid today then there is only one true answer to your fear and that is the Lord Jesus Christ. Ask Him to save you and give you peace!
