JEREMIAH 2:35
"You say, I have done nothing wrong. Surely God is not angry with me. God says, now I will punish you severely because you claim you have not sinned."
When Jesus said to the crowd, about to stone the adulterous woman, "let him who has no sin cast the first stone". Who cast a stone? If you had been in the crowd, could you have cast the first stone? Do you think because you are a good person, that you have not sinned in God's sight? You had better be careful not to claim you have done nothing wrong and you have never and do never sin, because God will be angry and severely punish you!
The Bible says in Psalms 14 and 53 that "no one is good, no not one". The Lord said in Matthew, Mark and Luke that, "no one is good but one, and that is God". In Romans 3:23 we learn that, "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". You are included in the term, all, and the statement applies to you. The only way it would not apply is if your were God. If you believe you are God, you have a bigger and more urgent problem!
We are all sinners and we all need a saviour. You can not save yourself. If you claim that you have not sinned or done anything wrong in God's sight you are only kidding yourself and God will punish you severely for your arrogance. As with all sins, you can repent and confess them to God right now. He will forgive you and His grace will cover your sin. He will tell you to go, and sin no more. That is the good news of Jesus Christ and the truth for today!
