"Do not love this world, or the things it offers you, for when you love the world ,
you do not have the love of the Father in you."
Do you have a craving for the pleasures of this world? Do you have pride in your achievements? Are your possessions very important to your self worth? Are physical pleasures dominating your life? Our One Truth Today has this admonition for you. If you love this world and the things that it offers you, you do not have the love of the Father in you. If you are caught up in the things of this world, your attention has been detracted from the eternal life to come! The World offers up cravings for physical pleasures and possessions that we see. The world fills us with pride and the false notion that we own anything or have achieved anything, that the Lord has given us, just for the moment. DO NOT LOVE THIS WORLD!
If you have taken your eyes and mind off Jesus Christ the Lord God, then you have your focus on the world. This is not from the Father but it is of the world. Have you noticed that the world is fading away, just as your earthly body and life are also fading away? Everything that people crave in this world continues to fade away. If the Love of the Father is in you then you will want to please the Lord. How do we please the Lord, by doing His will and following His commandments. Obey God's Word and you can truly show completely how much you Love Him! If you can not do this then you are not living the truth and you do not have the Love of the Father in you!
We can be sure that we know Jesus Christ if we obey His commandments. If we do not obey the commandments of the Lord, we are not living in His Truth. Of course we have all sinned but the Good News is we have an advocate who Saves us from our sins. Jesus Christ who is truly righteous pleads our case before the Father and as the ultimate sacrifice, atones for our sins. We are to live our lives as Jesus did. The closer we come to that template the more righteous we become. The more we Love Jesus Christ the Lord God the less we care about this world or anything in it. DO NOT LOVE THIS WORLD!
