"God saved us, not because of the righteous things that we had done, but
BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY!"
It is common for many men to be prideful and full of themselves. They even believe that they are responsible for their accomplishments. This is true even about believer's. The best example is a preacher of a large, spirit filled Church. It is man's nature to want to take the credit for our many accomplishments. Most of us want to believe that we have the power and ability to control our lives and destiny. I have a question for those people. Can you Save yourself from death and give yourself eternal life? Our One Truth Today is here to remind us that God is the only one who can or will save us. It will not be because of anything we have done, no matter how righteous we have become. God Saves us BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY!
Most of us know that we have been rebellious, foolish and disobedient when it comes to our relationship with God. No one is Good, no not one. We have been misled and deluded into taking all kinds of actions that are sinful and mistaken. Many have wasted their lives on malice
hatred, envy and jealousy. On our own and with our own power we are helpless to overcome these sins. Jesus Christ the Lord God is the only one who can wash away all of our sins and make us new and whole. How can this happen and what is the reason, BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY! That is correct God will save you and redeem you, but not because of anything that you have done, no matter how righteous you are.
There is no righteousness that you can perform that approaches the Glory of God. Life eternal is a gift of God. Everything you have or ever will have is a gift from God. When you accepted the Lord into your heart and were Baptized by the Holy Spirit you became a new person with a new heart an eternal soul. That was a gift of God, BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY! No man can ever boast about his salvation, because you could never save yourself. God poured out His Mercy and Love and Life just for us. Be careful that your pride does not cause your fall. Thank the Lord that He Saved you BECAUSE OF HIS MERCY!
