"For you know quite well that THE DAY OF THE LORD'S RETURN will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night."
Do you feel secure in your little world? Is everything going quite well for you and your loved ones? Is there peace and safety all around you? Do you believe this will never end? At a time when we would never expect it the Lord Jesus Christ will return unexpectedly. The comparison is to when a thief comes in the night and you never suspected or expected it or you would have been up and awake and aware! For believer's this is the blessed event we have all waited and prayed for. For non believer's this is the calamity and end they have always been worried about in the pit of their stomach. It does not matter if either of us do not think this is the time or the season for the Lord's return, He is coming. Death and damnation come to the unbeliever after the Lord's judgement. There will be no more time to bend your knee and confess with your tongue that you accept the Lord into your heart or life. There will be no escape.
Up until the moment of the Lord's return every person has a choice to accept the Lord's free gift of eternal life or to reject the Lord and exclude Him from their lives. Not choosing to accept Jesus Christ is a decision, just as rejecting Him is a decision that each person makes. God will not have condemned you, you will have condemned yourself. Your choice and your consequence. If you reject God or neglect God you are making the mistake that will cost your eternal life and the damnation of your soul forever. Do not blame God for your action or inaction.
When the Lord returns unexpectedly and suddenly there will be no more time for this earth. There will be no escape from the wrath to come. God's children will be saved as He promised them. There is no need for anyone to perish and God's desire is that everyone will be saved. The problem is that He gave everyone free will and they choose there own destiny. Life or death is the hand of every person on earth. Today is the day of salvation to anyone who does not know or has not accepted the Lord. You can make the choice right now and in this instant the Lord can and will save you, if you believe in Him and open the door to your heart for Him to come in and dwell with you. Now is the accepted time. In fact the only time that is available to you is before THE DAY OF THE LORD'S RETURN! Your move, your decision, your fate!
